There was a road the people of Israel used when they came up from Egypt. In the same way, there will be a wide road coming out of Assyria. It will be used by the Lord’ s people who are left alive there.

There remained not so much as one of them.But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

The voice of one who calls out,“ Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.

It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called“ The Holy Way”. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools shall not go there.No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous animal go up on it. They will not be found there; but the redeemed will walk there.Then Yahweh’s ransomed ones will return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”

Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way of the people! Build up, build up the highway! Gather out the stones! Lift up a banner for the peoples.

I will destroy mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs. I will make the rivers islands, and will dry up the pools.I will bring the blind by a way that they don’t know. I will lead them in paths that they don’t know. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. I will do these things, and I will not forsake them.

He will say,“ Build up, build up, prepare the way! Remove the stumbling- block out of the way of my people.”

It will happen in that day that a great trumpet will be blown; and those who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and those who were outcasts in the land of Egypt, shall come; and they will worship Yahweh in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

Behold, these shall come from afar, and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.”

Leave Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing announce this, tell it even to the end of the earth: say,“ Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob!”They didn’t thirst when he led them through the deserts. He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them. He also split the rock and the waters gushed out.

Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?

Isn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
