Behold, the Lord, The Lord of hosts, Will lop off the bough with terror; Those of high stature will be hewn down, And the haughty will be humbled.

看哪，主万军之耶和华以惊吓削去树枝；长高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。

看哪，主—万军之耶和华以猛撞削断树枝；巨木必被砍下，高大的树必降为低。

看啊，主——万军之耶和华要以大能削去树枝。高大的树必被斩断，挺拔的大树必被砍倒，

看哪！主万军之耶和华在可怕的震撼声中，把树枝削去；身量高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。

看哪！主万军之耶和华将以震撼之力削去树枝；高耸的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒；

看哪，主－萬軍之耶和華以驚嚇削去樹枝；長高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。

看哪，主－萬軍之耶和華以猛撞削斷樹枝；巨木必被砍下，高大的樹必降為低。

看哪，主－萬軍之耶和華以猛撞削斷樹枝；巨木必被砍下，高大的樹必降為低。

看啊，主——萬軍之耶和華要以大能削去樹枝。高大的樹必被斬斷，挺拔的大樹必被砍倒，

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華在可怕的震撼聲中，把樹枝削去；身量高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。

看吧，主萬軍之永恆主以可怕的震撼力砍削樹枝：身量高的必被砍下，高昂的必被伐低。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華將以震撼之力削去樹枝；高聳的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒；

萬軍之主耶和華、必以威烈伐其枝、雄幹見斫、高者降卑、

我萬有之主耶和華、赫兮煊兮、伐其巨枝、折其雄幹、使高者降為卑、

大主宰萬有之主、赫赫施威、折其巨枝、雄幹見伐、使高者降為卑、

See, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will lop off the boughs with great power. The lofty trees will be felled, the tall ones will be brought low.

The Assyrian soldiers are like trees in a forest. The Lord who rules over all will chop them down. The Lord will cut off their branches with his great power. He will chop the tall trees down. He will cut down even the highest ones.

Behold, the Lord God of hosts will lop the boughs with terrifying power; the great in height will be hewn down, and the lofty will be brought low.

But look! The Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will chop down the mighty tree of Assyria with great power! He will cut down the proud. That lofty tree will be brought down.

Look, the Lord GOD of Armies will chop off the branches with terrifying power, and the tall trees will be cut down, the high trees felled.

Behold, the Lord, the God of armies, will lop off the branches with terrifying power; Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down, And those who are lofty will be brought low.

Behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, will lop the boughs with terror: and the high of stature shall be hewn down, and the lofty shall be brought low.

Look, the Lord God of Hosts will chop off the branches with terrifying power, and the tall trees will be cut down, the high trees felled.

Look, the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, is ready to cut off the branches with terrifying power. The tallest trees will be cut down, the loftiest ones will be brought low.

Behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, will lop the boughs with terror. The tall will be cut down, and the lofty will be brought low.

“ Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, Whose height was like the height of the cedars, And he was as strong as the oaks; Yet I destroyed his fruit above And his roots beneath.

Now it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

This is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning him:‘ The virgin, the daughter of Zion, Has despised you, laughed you to scorn; The daughter of Jerusalem Has shaken her head behind your back!‘ Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.By your messengers you have reproached the Lord, And said:“ By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars And its choice cypress trees; I will enter the extremity of its borders, To its fruitful forest.I have dug and drunk strange water, And with the soles of my feet I have dried up All the brooks of defense.”‘ Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins.Therefore their inhabitants had little power; They were dismayed and confounded; They were as the grass of the field And the green herb, As the grass on the housetops And grain blighted before it is grown.‘ But I know your dwelling place, Your going out and your coming in, And your rage against Me.Because your rage against Me and your tumult Have come up to My ears, Therefore I will put My hook in your nose And My bridle in your lips, And I will turn you back By the way which you came.‘ This shall be a sign to you:‘ You shall eat this year such as grows of itself, And in the second year what springs from the same; Also in the third year sow and reap, Plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah Shall again take root downward, And bear fruit upward.For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, And those who escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.’“ Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria:‘ He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there, Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it.By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,’ Says the Lord.‘ For I will defend this city, to save it For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’”And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses— all dead.So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went away, returned home, and remained at Nineveh.Now it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the temple of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.

Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts, Will send leanness among his fat ones; And under his glory He will kindle a burning Like the burning of a fire.So the Light of Israel will be for a fire, And his Holy One for a flame; It will burn and devour His thorns and his briers in one day.And it will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, Both soul and body; And they will be as when a sick man wastes away.Then the rest of the trees of his forest Will be so few in number That a child may write them.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.For the day of the Lord of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up— And it shall be brought low—Upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, And upon all the oaks of Bashan;Upon all the high mountains, And upon all the hills that are lifted up;Upon every high tower, And upon every fortified wall;Upon all the ships of Tarshish, And upon all the beautiful sloops.The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, And the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; The Lord alone will be exalted in that day,

Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him.Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low; Tread down the wicked in their place.
