我萬有之主耶和華、赫兮煊兮、伐其巨枝、折其雄幹、使高者降為卑、

大主宰萬有之主、赫赫施威、折其巨枝、雄幹見伐、使高者降為卑、

See, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will lop off the boughs with great power. The lofty trees will be felled, the tall ones will be brought low.

The Assyrian soldiers are like trees in a forest. The Lord who rules over all will chop them down. The Lord will cut off their branches with his great power. He will chop the tall trees down. He will cut down even the highest ones.

Behold, the Lord God of hosts will lop the boughs with terrifying power; the great in height will be hewn down, and the lofty will be brought low.

昔我滅亞摩利人於爾前、其人高若香柏、強如橡樹、我上滅其果、下絕其根、

耶和華指亞述王云、郇之處女藐視爾、姍笑爾、耶路撒冷女向爾搖首、爾所侮所謗者為誰、向誰揚爾聲、高爾目、乃以色列之聖者也、爾藉使者侮主云、我率眾車陟於山巔、至利巴嫩之深處、伐其香柏之高者、松木之美者、將入其境之極處、即腴壤之森林、我已掘井而飲異地之水、將以足掌涸竭埃及之河、耶和華曰、爾豈未聞我於元始所為、上古所定、今則成之、使爾毀堅城為瓦礫、故其居民力微、驚惶羞愧、如田草、如青蔬、如屋上之草、如未成而槁之禾、爾之居處、爾之出入、及向我之暴怒、我悉知之、因爾向我暴怒、及爾狂傲之聲、達於我耳、我必置鈎於爾鼻、置勒於爾口、使循原途而返、希西家乎、必有其徵、今歲食田所自生者、明年食其所復生者、迨及三年、可稼可穡、植葡萄園、而食其果、猶大家得脫之遺民、必下盤根、而上結實、將有遺民出自耶路撒冷、得脫之人出自錫安山、耶和華熱中、必成斯事、故耶和華指亞述王曰、彼必不至此城、不射一矢於彼、不執干至其前、不築壘以攻之、必循原途而返、不至此城、耶和華言之矣、蓋我為己、及我僕大衛故、必扞衛此城、以拯救之、○是夜耶和華之使者出、在亞述營、擊其人十八萬五千、晨起視之、乃屍而已、亞述王西拿基立遂去而返、居於尼尼微、崇拜其神於尼斯洛廟時、亞得米勒與沙利色以刃弒之、遁於亞拉臘地、其子以撒哈頓嗣位、

緣此、萬軍之主耶和華、將使肥者為瘠、其貨財之下、如爇火而焚、以色列之光為火、其聖者為焰、一日之間、燬其荊棘蒺藜、爇其茂林腴田之榮華、身心俱滅、勢如病者日漸衰頹、其林遺木無幾、童穉可記錄之、○

蓋凡自高者、將卑之、自卑者、將高之也、○

耶和華遣使於亞述王營、滅其勇土、軍長將帥、亞述王蒙羞、返其故土、入其神廟、為其親生之子所弒、

是日也、人之高視必降、人之驕矜必卑、惟耶和華獨見崇高、蓋萬軍之耶和華、將有一日臨及驕矜者、狂傲者、自高者、降之為卑、亦臨及利巴嫩高大之香柏、巴珊之橡樹、暨諸崇山峻嶺、崇高之臺榭、鞏固之城垣、他施之舟、可悅之物、是日也、人之高志必降、人之驕矜必卑、惟耶和華獨見崇高、

傾爾滿溢之怒、觀矜高者而卑之、視驕傲者而降之、踐惡人於其所、
