Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, says“ My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

因此，主萬軍之耶和華如此說：「住在錫安的我的子民哪，亞述人雖然像埃及人用棍擊打你們、舉杖對付你們，你們卻不要怕他們。

萬軍之主耶和華曰、我居錫安之民歟、雖亞述擊爾以梃、加爾以杖、倣乎埃及、爾勿懼之、

萬有之主耶和華、告郇邑之民曰、亞述之眾、我民勿懼之、彼舉杖箠、加爾以扑責、與昔埃及人無異、

因此主萬有之天主如是云、居郇之我民、毋懼亞述、今彼以梃擊爾、舉杖加撲責於爾、與昔伊及無異、

Therefore this is what the Lord, the Lord Almighty, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians, who beat you with a rod and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.

The Lord rules over all. The Lord says,“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian army. They beat you with rods. They lift up war clubs against you, just as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts:“ O my people, who dwell in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrians when they strike with the rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did.

So this is what the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, says:“ O my people in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they oppress you with rod and club as the Egyptians did long ago.

Therefore, the Lord GOD of Armies says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though they strike you with a rod and raise their staff over you as the Egyptians did.

Therefore this is what the Lord God of armies says:“ My people, you who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod, and lifts up his staff against you the way Egypt did.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts:“ O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He shall strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt.

Therefore thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian, though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

Therefore, the Lord God of Hosts says this:“ My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, though he strikes you with a rod and raises his staff over you as the Egyptians did.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

So here is what the sovereign master, the LORD who commands armies, says:“ My people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of Assyria, even though they beat you with a club and lift their cudgel against you as Egypt did.

But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels,to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.

Isaiah said to them,“ Tell your master,‘ Yahweh says,“ Don’t be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.

“ Don’t say,‘ A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say,‘ A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.Yahweh of Armies is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.

Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahweh caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.In the morning watch, Yahweh looked out on the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and confused the Egyptian army.He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily; so that the Egyptians said,“ Let’s flee from the face of Israel, for Yahweh fights for them against the Egyptians!”Yahweh said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it. Yahweh overthrew the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.Thus Yahweh saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.Israel saw the great work which Yahweh did to the Egyptians, and the people feared Yahweh; and they believed in Yahweh and in his servant Moses.

Come, let’s deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies and fight against us, and escape out of the land.”Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. They built storage cities for Pharaoh: Pithom and Raamses.But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. They started to dread the children of Israel.The Egyptians ruthlessly made the children of Israel serve,and they made their lives bitter with hard service in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah,and he said,“ When you perform the duty of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them on the birth stool, if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.”

Yes, of Zion it will be said,“ This one and that one was born in her;” the Most High himself will establish her.Yahweh will count, when he writes up the peoples,“ This one was born there.” Selah.

I bring my righteousness near. It is not far off, and my salvation will not wait. I will grant salvation to Zion, my glory to Israel.

to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified.

Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!

Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or are they killed like those who killed them were killed?

The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil—he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure.

Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces.In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy said,‘ I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword. My hand will destroy them.’You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Don’t rejoice, O Philistia, all of you, because the rod that struck you is broken; for out of the serpent’s root an adder will emerge, and his fruit will be a fiery flying serpent.

The Egyptians pursued them. All the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his army overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baal Zephon.

It will happen that he who is left in Zion and he who remains in Jerusalem shall be called holy, even everyone who is written among the living in Jerusalem,

“ Therefore Yahweh says concerning the king of Assyria,‘ He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.He will return the way that he came, and he won’t come to this city,’ says Yahweh.‘ For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.’”

this is the word which Yahweh has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for the Holy One of Israel is great among you!”

Tell those who have a fearful heart,“ Be strong! Don’t be afraid! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, God’s retribution. He will come and save you.

The officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and were asked,“ Why haven’t you fulfilled your quota both yesterday and today, in making brick as before?”
