遂以所求賜之、惟使其神衰弱兮、

耶和華必令人聞其威聲、且見其臂力、及忿怒、烈火、暴雨、巨風、冰雹、亞述因聞耶和華之聲而恐惶、彼必以其杖擊之、耶和華每以所定之杖擊之、人則擊鼓彈琴、彼必揮拳、戰而攻之、蓋陀斐特設自古昔、為王而備、深之廣之、積多薪、蓄以火、耶和華之氣、若硫磺之流而燃之、

耶和華遣使於亞述王營、滅其勇土、軍長將帥、亞述王蒙羞、返其故土、入其神廟、為其親生之子所弒、

萬軍之耶和華誓曰、我所思者必成、我所謀者必驗、破亞述於我國、蹂躪之於我山、除民之軛、脫負於肩、是乃所定之旨、行於天下、是乃所伸之手、加於列邦、萬軍之耶和華、既定其旨、誰能廢之、既伸厥手、誰能挽之、○

是日也、雅各之榮消減、豐腴之軀瘦瘠、

爾敵之眾、將如纖塵、強暴之多、將如飛糠、其事成於俄頃、萬軍之耶和華、將以霹靂、地震轟聲、旋風狂飇、焚燬之火臨之、凡列邦之眾、擊亞利伊勒、攻其保障而苦之者、將如夢寐、若夜間之幻象、又如飢者夢食、醒而枵腹、渴者夢飲、醒而困憊、其心仍有所欲、列邦之眾攻錫安山者、亦若是也、○

斯時羔羊齧芻、如在己苑、富厚者之荒田、旅人食其所產、○

因爾向我暴怒、及爾狂傲之聲、達於我耳、我必置鈎於爾鼻、置勒於爾口、使循原途而返、

戰士鼓譟之時、所擐之甲、及沾血之衣、俱必為薪、火焚之柴、

維時、耶和華之使者出、在亞述營、擊其人十八萬五千、晨起視之、乃屍而已、

希律不歸榮上帝、主之使即擊之、為蟲所蝕而氣絕、○

以賽亞謂之曰、其告爾主曰、耶和華云、爾聞亞述王臣僕侮我之言、勿懼、我將以靈置於其衷、俾其聞風、而歸故土、在彼使仆於刃、○

故主必使亞述王、及其威勢、如大河之水、洶湧漲溢、出川踰岸、

耶和華曰、我今崛起、我今勃興、我今高舉、爾將孕秕穅、產草芥、爾氣乃火、焚燬己身、列邦如被焚之灰、猶已刈之荊棘、見燬於火、○我之行為、遠者宜聞之、我之能力、近者宜識之、錫安之罪人恐懼、不虔之輩戰慄、曰、我儕孰能與烈火同居、與不滅之火並處、

爇其茂林腴田之榮華、身心俱滅、勢如病者日漸衰頹、
