Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

諸天哪，你們當聽！大地啊，你當傾聽！因為耶和華說：「我養育兒女，帶大了他們，他們卻悖逆了我。

天其聽之、地其側耳、蓋耶和華言曰、我撫養諸子、而彼背逆我、

天其聞之、地其聽之、耶和華曰、我養民如保赤子、而反忤逆。

天乎聽哉、地其傾聞、因主有言曰、我養子而撫之、彼反忤逆乎我、

Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken:“ I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.

Listen to me, you heavens! Pay attention to me, earth! The Lord has said,“ I raised children. I brought them up. But they have refused to obey me.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the Lord has spoken:“ Children have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me.

Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the Lord says:“ The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me.

Listen, heavens, and pay attention, earth, for the LORD has spoken:“ I have raised children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.

Listen, heavens, and hear, earth; For the Lord has spoken:“ Sons I have raised and brought up, But they have revolted against Me.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth! For the Lord has spoken:“ I have nourished and brought up children, And they have rebelled against Me;

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for Jehovah hath spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Listen, heavens, and pay attention, earth, for the Lord has spoken:“ I have raised children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against Me.

Listen, O heavens, pay attention, O earth! For the LORD speaks:“ I raised children, I brought them up, but they have rebelled against me!

Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for Yahweh has spoken:“ I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled against me.

Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,[ that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong[ your] days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

A son honoureth[ his] father, and a servant his master: if then I[ be] a father, where[ is] mine honour? and if I[ be] a master, where[ is] my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

That this[ is] a rebellious people, lying children, children[ that] will not hear the law of the LORD:

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne[ by me] from the belly, which are carried from the womb:And[ even] to[ your] old age I[ am] he; and[ even] to hoar hairs will I carry[ you]: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver[ you].

Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that[ are] round about;

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way[ that was] not good, after their own thoughts;

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee[ when thou wast] in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee[ when thou wast] in thy blood, Live.I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments:[ thy] breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou[ wast] naked and bare.Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time[ was] the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment[ was of] fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it[ was] perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim[ is] my firstborn.

For what nation[ is there so] great, who[ hath] God[ so] nigh unto them, as the LORD our God[ is] in all[ things that] we call upon him[ for]?And what nation[ is there so] great, that hath statutes and judgments[ so] righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people,[ even] the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy,[ and] he fought against them.

Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.

And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibrothhattaavah, ye provoked the LORD to wrath.Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?Neither said they, Where[ is] the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.The priests said not, Where[ is] the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after[ things that] do not profit.Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.Hath a nation changed[ their] gods, which[ are] yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for[ that which] doth not profit.Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters,[ and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I[ am] the LORD your God;In the day[ that] I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands:Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I[ am] the LORD your God.But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they[ were], in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them.Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I[ am] the LORD that sanctify them.But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given[ them], flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands;Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:I[ am] the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them;And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I[ am] the LORD your God.Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which[ if] a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth.I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries;Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.Wherefore I gave them also statutes[ that were] not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through[ the fire] all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I[ am] the LORD.Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.[ For] when I had brought them into the land,[ for] the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering: there also they made their sweet savour, and poured out there their drink offerings.Then I said unto them, What[ is] the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel?[ As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

Who are Israelites; to whom[ pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service[ of God], and the promises;Whose[ are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ[ came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit[ is there] of circumcision?Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
