耶和华说，你们为人要公义正直，要从欺压者手中解救受剥削的人。不要欺凌、虐待异乡人和孤儿寡妇，不可在这地方滥杀无辜。

世人啊，耶和华已经指示你们何为良善。祂向你们所要的是什么呢？是要你们行公义，好怜悯，谦卑地与你们的上帝同行。

你们要为穷人和孤儿主持公道，为贫寒和受压迫的人伸张正义。要救助穷苦的人，使他们脱离恶人的欺压。

你的首领是叛逆之徒，与盗贼为伍，个个收受贿赂，贪图好处，不为孤儿辩护，不替寡妇申冤。

你要发言，秉公审判，为贫穷困苦者主持公道。

“万军之耶和华曾对你们的祖先说，‘要秉公行义，彼此以慈爱和怜悯相待。不可欺压寡妇、孤儿、寄居者和穷人，不可设阴谋彼此相害。’

难道你大肆使用香柏木就能显出你做王的气派吗？你父亲也吃也喝，但他秉公行义，所以他凡事顺利；他为困苦和贫穷的人申冤，所以他凡事顺利。这才是真正认识我。这是耶和华说的。

世上所有遵守耶和华典章的谦卑人啊，要寻求耶和华，追求公义，为人谦卑。也许在耶和华发怒的日子，你们可以得到庇护。

你们所当做的是彼此说真话，在城门口秉公断案，使人和睦。

王啊，请接受我的劝谏，你要秉公行义，以断绝罪恶；怜悯穷人，以除掉罪过。这样，你的国运也许可以延续。”
