主曰、昔我得以色列族、如葡萄在曠野、視爾列祖、如在無花果樹初熟之果、然彼就巴力毘珥、專心崇拜可恥之物、遂為可憎、與所崇之物無異、

主说：“我遇见以色列如葡萄在旷野；我看见你们的列祖如无花果树上春季初熟的果子。他们却来到巴力毗珥专拜那可羞耻的，就成为可憎恶的，与他们所爱的一样。

我发现以色列，如在旷野的葡萄；我看见你们的祖先，如春季无花果树上初熟的果子。他们却来到巴力‧毗珥，献上自己做羞耻的事，成为可憎恶的，与他们所爱的一样。

我遇以色列、若遇葡萄於曠野、見爾列祖、如見無花果樹初熟之果、然彼就巴力毘珥、自奉於可恥之物、成為可憎、如其所愛者然、

上帝曰、昔我得以色列族、如曠野遇葡萄、視爾列祖、如初熟之無花果、然彼往巴力比耳、崇拜可惡之物、我於是痛絕之、與所崇之物無異、

“ When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved.

The Lord says,“ When I first found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert. When I saw your people of long ago, it was like seeing the early fruit on a fig tree. But then they went to Baal Peor. There they gave themselves to that shameful god named Baal. They became as evil as the god they loved.

Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame, and became detestable like the thing they loved.

The Lord says,“ O Israel, when I first found you, it was like finding fresh grapes in the desert. When I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the first ripe figs of the season. But then they deserted me for Baal peor, giving themselves to that shameful idol. Soon they became vile, as vile as the god they worshiped.

I discovered Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your ancestors like the first fruit of the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal-peor, consecrated themselves to Shame, and became abhorrent, like the thing they loved.

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your forefathers as the earliest fruit on the fig tree in its first season. But they came to Baal peor and devoted themselves to shame, And they became as detestable as that which they loved.

“ I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first- ripe in the fig- tree at its first season: but they came to Baal- peor, and consecrated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.

I discovered Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers like the first fruit of the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal-peor, consecrated themselves to Shame, and became detestable, like the thing they loved.

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time:[ but] they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto[ that] shame; and[ their] abominations were according as they loved.

When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the wilderness. I viewed your ancestors like an early fig on a fig tree in its first season. Then they came to Baal-Peor and they dedicated themselves to shame– they became as detestable as what they loved.

爾女不貞、爾媳行淫、我亦不懲罰、蓋彼與妓同居、偕娼獻祭、無知之民、終必淪亡、

猶大人歟、爾所敬之諸神、其數同與爾邑之數、爾為可恥之物巴力、多立祭壇、焚香焚香或作獻祭以奉之、其數與耶路撒冷街衢之數無異、

哀哉、我之境遇、如夏果已收、摘葡萄時、所遺留之葡萄已摘、摘葡萄時所遺留之葡萄已摘或作葡萄已摘尋求或有所遺而不得無葡萄可食、心慕初熟之無花果而不能得、

爾往哉、向耶路撒冷居民、大聲宣告曰、主如是云、我憶爾幼時從我在野、無人耕種之地、當時爾慕我、愛我、如新婦之愛新娶者、當時爾慕我愛我如新婦之愛新娶者或作當時我施恩於爾愛爾如新婦其時以色列於主前為聖、視若初熟之實、凡吞之者、無不獲罪、必遭禍患、此乃主所言、

惟彼悖逆我、不願聽我、不棄其目所羨慕可憎之物、不舍伊及之偶像、我言將震怒斯民、發我盛忿、滅之在伊及地、我言將震怒斯民發我盛忿滅之在伊及地或作我言將在伊及地震怒斯民洩盡我之盛忿在其身

民又依附巴力毘珥、食供亡者之祭物、行事干犯主怒、即有瘟疫流行其間、

又在彼賜之以葡萄園、雖在亞割谷、仍有門路可望、在彼必謳歌、與幼年之時、出自伊及之日無異、

以色列民居於什亭、與摩押女行淫、摩押女祭其神、請民至、民遂食其祭物而拜其神、以色列人崇事巴力毘珥、主遂向以色列人震怒、主諭摩西曰、取民中為首者、對日懸於我前、我向以色列人所發之怒即可息、摩西謂以色列人官吏曰、凡屬爾統轄者、有崇拜巴力毘珥之人、悉當誅戮、摩西及以色列會眾、呼號於會幕門前時、有一以色列人、當摩西與會眾目前、攜一米甸女至同族處、祭司亞倫孫以利亞撒子非尼哈見之、即離會眾、手執戈、隨以色列人後入幕、將二人、即以色列人及女、由其腹刺而殺之、於是瘟疫止於以色列人中、遭瘟疫而死者、計二萬四千人、○主諭摩西曰、祭司亞倫孫以利亞撒子非尼哈、在以色列人中為我熱中、致我向以色列人息怒、在我忌邪發怒之時、不以之翦滅、故爾當告非尼哈曰、我必賜之以平康之約、此即立彼與其子孫永為祭司之約、因彼為其天主熱中、為以色列人贖罪、○與米甸女同見殺之以色列人名心利、乃撒路子、西緬支派中一族長、被殺之米甸女名哥斯比、乃米甸族長蘇珥之女、○主諭摩西曰、爾以米甸人為敵而攻之、緣米甸人視爾為敵、以詭計誘惑爾、使爾崇拜毘珥、更使同族米甸牧伯之女哥斯比、即因崇拜毘珥瘟疫流行時見殺者、誘惑爾行淫、

因巴力毘珥之事、主所行者爾曾目睹、凡從巴力毘珥者、主滅之於爾中、

又至以實各谷、在彼伐葡萄樹枝、枝上葡萄纍然、其中二人以杠舁之、又取石榴與無花果、因以色列人在彼伐葡萄枝、故稱其地為以實各谷、以實各谷譯即葡萄谷之義

焚有酵之餅、為酬恩祭、酬恩祭或作感謝祭報己所樂獻之禮物、宣示於眾、以色列人歟、爾素喜悅如此、此乃主天主所言、

主遇之於野、在獸嗷嗷荒墟之地、護之誨之保如眸子、

其狀甚華美莊嚴、勢若花將殘之邑、即建於膏腴平原岡之邑、必如夏前初熟之無花果、凡見之者、適摘於手即食之、

從尼八子耶羅波安之罪、尚為細事、更娶西頓王謁謁巴力女耶洗別為后、服事崇拜巴力、

主如是云、昔以色列民得脫鋒刃、適於曠野、蒙我恩寵、我與偕行、使之安息、

爾衣有繸、觀之可憶主之諸命、遵之而行、不隨心目所欲、即素迷爾從邪者、

不祭天主反祭鬼魔、或作祭祀鬼魔不足為神者即素未識之神、乃新造者、出自鄰國、爾之祖宗未嘗敬畏、

當日人稱基甸曰、耶路巴力、耶路巴力譯即任巴力爭論之義蓋曰、基甸毀巴力壇、任巴力與之爭論、

以色列年幼之時、我已愛之、且召我子出自伊及、

爾昔日所行之事、今日所恥者、獲何益益原文作果哉、因此事終致死亡、

先知傳虛言、祭司賴之掌權、我民以此為悅、及至其終、主降罰之時、爾將何為、

我所行於伊及人、我如何負爾、如鷹負雛於翼、導爾歸我、為爾所睹、今爾若聽從我言、遵守我約、普天下雖皆屬我、我必於萬國中、特選爾為我民、特選爾為我民或作以爾為寶亦在我前、為祭司之國、為成聖之民、爾當以斯言告以色列人、

我即任其心中剛愎、聽其隨意而行、
