因此，我要在收割的日子收回我的五谷，在当令的季节收回我的新酒，我要夺回她用以遮体的羊毛和麻。

你地所产的和你劳力所得的，必被你所不认识的百姓吃尽。你天天只被欺负，受压制，

你们要为自己栽种公义，收割慈爱。你们要开垦荒地，现今正是寻求耶和华的时候；等他临到，公义必如雨降给你们。你们耕种奸恶，收割罪孽，吃的是谎言的果实。因你倚靠自己的行为，仰赖你众多的勇士，

栽种的日子，你使它生长，栽种的早晨，你使它开花，但在愁苦、极其伤痛的日子，所收割的都归无有。

每当以色列人撒种之后，米甸、亚玛力和东边的人都上来攻打他们，对着他们安营，毁坏那地的农作物，直到迦萨，没有给以色列留下食物，牛、羊、驴也没有留下。因为那些人带着他们的牲畜和帐棚上来，像蝗虫那样多；人和骆驼无数，都进入境内，毁坏全地。以色列因米甸的缘故极其穷乏，以色列人就呼求耶和华。

在以色列王比加的日子，亚述王提革拉‧毗列色来夺取以云、亚伯‧伯‧玛迦、亚挪、基低斯、夏琐、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把这些地方的居民都掳到亚述去了。
