For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah. I will tear them to pieces and go away; I will carry them off, with no one to rescue them.

Otherwise they will rip me to shreds like a lion; they will tear me to bits and no one will be able to rescue me.

So I will pounce on them like a lion; like a leopard I will lurk by the path.I will attack them like a bear robbed of her cubs– I will rip open their chests. I will devour them there like a lion– like a wild animal would tear them apart.

Carefully consider this, you who reject God! Otherwise I will rip you to shreds and no one will be able to rescue you.

Their roar is like a lion’s; they roar like young lions. They growl and seize their prey; they drag it away and no one can come to the rescue.

To me he is like a bear lying in ambush, like a hidden lion stalking its prey.

If I lift myself up, you hunt me as a fierce lion, and again you display your power against me.

Fast runners will find no place to hide; strong men will have no strength left; warriors will not be able to save their lives.

Does a lion roar in the woods if he has not cornered his prey? Does a young lion bellow from his den if he has not caught something?Does a bird swoop down into a trap on the ground if there is no bait? Does a trap spring up from the ground unless it has surely caught something?If an alarm sounds in a city, do people not fear? If disaster overtakes a city, is the LORD not responsible?Certainly the sovereign LORD does nothing without first revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.A lion has roared! Who is not afraid? The sovereign LORD has spoken! Who can refuse to prophesy?

although you know that I am not guilty, and that there is no one who can deliver out of your hand?

Your ox will be slaughtered before your very eyes but you will not eat of it. Your donkey will be stolen from you as you watch and will not be returned to you. Your flock of sheep will be given to your enemies and there will be no one to save you.
