以法蓮見自己有病，猶大見自己有傷，以法蓮就前往亞述，差遣人去見大王；他卻不能醫治你們，不能治好你們的傷。

“以法莲见自己有病，犹大见自己有伤，他们就打发人往亚述去见耶雷布王，他却不能医治你们，不能治好你们的伤。

以法蓮見自己有病，猶大見自己有傷，以法蓮就打發人到亞述去，差遣人去見那大王，他卻不能醫治你們，不能把你們的傷治好。

以法蓮自知其病、猶大自覺其傷、以法蓮則往亞述、遣人詣耶雷布王、然彼不能醫其病、療其傷、

以法蓮、猶大知被毀傷、則以法蓮遣人至亞述、求救於敵國之王、而不能療其疾、

以法蓮自知有疾、猶大見己受傷、則以法蓮往亞述、遣人見耶雷布王耶雷布王或作敵國之王求救、而不能醫爾、不能療爾之傷、

“ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sores, then Ephraim turned to Assyria, and sent to the great king for help. But he is not able to cure you, not able to heal your sores.

“ The people of Ephraim saw how sick they were. The people of Judah saw that they were wounded. Then Ephraim turned to Assyria for help. They sent gifts to the great King Tiglath- Pileser. But he is not able to make you well. He can’t heal your wounds.

When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to the great king. But he is not able to cure you or heal your wound.

“ When Israel and Judah saw how sick they were, Israel turned to Assyria— to the great king there— but he could neither help nor cure them.

以法蓮好像鴿子愚蠢無知，他們求告埃及，投奔亞述。

人必將牛犢帶到亞述，當作禮物獻給大王。以法蓮必蒙羞，以色列必因自己的計謀慚愧。

以法蓮以風為食物，終日追逐東風，增添虛謊和殘暴，與亞述立約，也把油送到埃及。

他們投奔亞述如獨行的野驢。以法蓮雇用情人，

亞述王普勒來攻擊這地，米拿現給他一千他連得銀子，為了請普勒幫助他鞏固他所掌握的國度。

耶和華如此說：「你的損傷無法醫治，你的傷痕極其重大。

你所親愛的都忘記你，不來探望你。我因你罪孽甚大，罪惡眾多，曾藉仇敵加的傷害傷害你，藉殘忍者懲治你。你為何因所受的損傷哀號呢？你的痛苦無法醫治。我因你罪孽甚大，罪惡眾多，曾將這些加在你身上。

亞述不能救我們，我們不再騎馬，也不再對我們手所造的偶像說：『你是我們的神』；孤兒在你那裏得蒙憐憫。」

因為撒瑪利亞的創傷無法醫治，蔓延到猶大，到了我百姓的城門，直達耶路撒冷。

那時，亞哈斯王派人去求亞述諸王來幫助他，因為以東人又來攻擊猶大，擄掠俘虜。非利士人也來侵佔謝非拉和猶大的尼革夫的城鎮，攻取了伯‧示麥、亞雅崙、基低羅、梭哥和所屬的鄉鎮、亭拿和所屬的鄉鎮、瑾鎖和所屬的鄉鎮，就住在那裏。

亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來攻擊他，不幫助他，反倒欺負他。亞哈斯從耶和華殿裏和王宮中，以及眾領袖家中取財寶送給亞述王，也無濟於事。

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

亞哈斯派使者到亞述王提革拉‧毗列色那裏，說：「我是你的僕人，你的兒子。現在亞蘭王和以色列王攻擊我，求你上來，救我脫離他們的手。」
