因此，主耶和华如此说：“看哪，我的仆人们必有吃的，你们却会挨饿！看哪，我的仆人们必有喝的，你们却会口渴！看哪，我的仆人们必欢喜，你们却会蒙羞！看哪，我的仆人们因心中高兴而欢呼，你们却因心中伤痛而呼号、因灵里破碎而哀号！你们必留下自己的名字，作我选民的诅咒词。主耶和华必把你们处死；至于我的仆人们，我必用另外的名字称呼他们。在地上为自己祝福的，必藉着真实的神为自己祝福；在地上起誓的，必指着真实的神起誓；因为先前的患难已被忘记，从我眼前被隐藏了。

万军之耶和华说：“祭司们哪！现在，这诫命是给你们的：你们如果不听从，如果不放在心上，不把荣耀归于我的名，我就使诅咒临到你们，我要诅咒你们应得的祝福。事实上，我已经诅咒了，因为你们不把诫命放在心上。”万军之耶和华说：“看哪！我要斥责你们的后裔，也要把粪便，就是节期祭牲的粪便涂在你们脸上；人要把你们与粪便一同抬走。

原来，他们如果藉着认识我们的主、救主耶稣基督而逃脱这世界的污秽，却又被这些污秽纠缠、制伏了，那么，他们最后的情况就比先前更坏了；因为认识了义的道路以后，背离那交托给他们的神圣诫命，对他们来说，倒不如不认识还好。在他们身上正应验了这真实的俗语：“狗转身回到自己所吐的东西；猪洗干净了又到污泥中打滚。”
