『永恆主使以色列乘駕地之山丘，使他得喫田間的果品；又使他從磐石中咂蜜，從硬碞石中吸油。也喫牛奶酪、羊奶子，同羊羔的脂肪、和公綿羊，巴珊種的公牛和公山羊，同頂肥美的麥子；你也喝了血紅的葡萄汁起泡沫的酒。『但是你肥胖了，你粗壯了，你肚滿腸肥了！耶書崙肥胖了、就踢跳，背棄了造他的上帝，辱沒救他的磐石。

恐怕你有的喫、並喫得飽足，建造美好房屋去居住，你的牛羊加多，你的金銀增添，你所有的全都加增，那時你就心高氣傲，忘記了永恆主你的上帝、那把你從埃及地從為奴之家領出來的。

惡人面帶驕氣、不尋求永恆主；他一切想法都沒有上帝。

他們在本國中、雖有了你所賜的洪福，又在你所擺在他們面前這廣大而肥沃之地上，他們卻不事奉你，也不轉離他們的壞行為。

他們立了王，但不是由我立的；他們立了首領，卻不是我承認的。他們用他們的銀子或金子、為自己造了偶像，好讓自己被剪除。

『永恆主你的上帝領你進他向你列祖、亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、起誓應許給你的地；那裏有城市、又大又美好、不是你建造的，有房屋裝滿着各樣財物、不是你裝滿的，有鑿成的水池、不是你鑿成的，有葡萄園橄欖園、不是你栽種的；你必有的喫，並且喫得飽足；那時你要謹慎，免得你忘記了永恆主、那把你從埃及地為奴之家領出來的。

因為你忘了拯救你的上帝，你不懷念那做你逃難所的磐石；所以你雖栽上佳美可愛的樹栽子，種上異樣的樹種，

但你們呢，這世代的人哪，你們要看明白永恆主的話。難道我對以色列竟成了曠野？或是極幽暗之地？我的人民為甚麼說：「我們漫遊無拘了；我們再也不來歸你了」？處女哪能忘記她的妝飾呢？新婦哪能忘記她的珠帶呢？我的人民卻忘記了我無數的日子。

我必察罰她拜巴力的節日向巴力燻祭的罪；那時她用她的耳環和珠寶裝飾自己，跟着她的愛人走，我呢、她卻忘了；永恆主發神諭說。

以色列是茂盛的葡萄樹、能結果子的；他的果子越多，他的祭壇就越增多；他的地土越肥美，他就越使崇拜柱子美麗。

生你的磐石、你不記得，為你受產痛的上帝、你忘掉了。

他們攻取了堡壘城、肥沃的地土，取得了裝滿各樣財物的房屋、鑿成的水池、葡萄園、橄欖園、產食物的樹很多；他們喫得飽足，身體發胖，因你的大恩而安逸享樂。『但他們居然悖逆，竟背叛了你，將你的律法丟在背後，殺害了你的神言人、那些勸告他們回轉歸向你的，而大大犯了褻慢你的罪。
