王打定了主意，就做了两个金牛犊，对众民说：“以色列人哪，你们上耶路撒冷去实在够了。看哪，这是你们的神，就是从埃及地领你们上来的那位。”他就把一个牛犊安放在伯特利，一个安放在但。这事成了以色列人的罪，因为众民都到但那个牛犊面前敬拜。

看哪！即使他们从毁灭中逃去，埃及要收殓他们，摩弗要埋葬他们。他们珍贵的银器必为蒺藜所占有，他们的帐棚必长满荆棘。

那些指着撒玛利亚的罪（“罪”或作“亚示玛女神”）起誓，或是那些指着但的神，或别是巴的神（“别是巴的神”原文作“别是巴的道”）起誓的，他们要倒下，再不能起来。”

耶和华起来，使大地震动的时候，人必进入石洞，进入土穴，躲避耶和华的惊吓和他威严的荣光。

也为那些在我子民的土地上长起来的荆棘和蒺藜而哀哭，为那欢乐的城和所有快乐的房屋，也是这样。

这事成为耶罗波安的家的罪，以致他的家从地上被涂抹与除灭。

你们要在基比亚吹角，在拉玛吹号，在伯．亚文大声吶喊：“便雅悯啊！敌人就在你背后。”

以色列啊！你虽然行淫，犹大却不可犯罪，不要往吉甲去，不要上到伯．亚文，也不要指着永活的耶和华起誓。

我把你们的罪，就是你们铸造的牛犊，拿去用火烧了，又把它捣碎，磨成细粉，像灰尘一样；我把这灰尘撒在从山上流下来的溪水中。

神人奉耶和华的命令，向那祭坛喊叫，说：“祭坛哪，祭坛哪，耶和华这样说：‘看哪，大卫家要生一个儿子，名叫约西亚；他要把邱坛的祭司，就是在你上面烧香的，作祭物献在你上面。人的骨头也要在你上面焚烧。’”

他把祭司的骨头烧在他们的祭坛上，这样就洁净了犹大和耶路撒冷。他又在玛拿西、以法莲、西缅，以至拿弗他利的各城，以及它们周围荒废的地方，都这样行。他拆毁了祭坛，把亚舍拉和雕刻的偶像打碎，破碎了以色列全地所有的香坛，就回耶路撒冷去了。

这都是因为雅各的过犯，以色列家的罪恶。雅各的过犯是什么呢？不就是撒玛利亚吗？犹大家的罪恶是什么呢？不就是耶路撒冷吗？

这一切都作完了，所有在那里的以色列人就都出去，到犹大的各城，打碎神柱，砍下亚舍拉；又在犹大、便雅悯、以法莲和玛拿西各地，把邱坛和祭坛完全拆毁。然后以色列众人都各回各城，各归自己的地业去了。

此外，甚至在伯特利的祭坛和那使以色列人陷于罪中的尼八的儿子耶罗波安所做的邱坛，他都拆毁焚烧，压碎成灰，又把亚舍拉烧了。

以东的宫殿必长荆棘，它的堡垒必长蒺藜和刺草；它要作野狗的住处，作鸵鸟的居所。

他们在山顶上献祭，在冈陵上的橡树、杨树和栗树之下献祭烧香，因为树荫美好。所以你们的女儿行淫乱，你们的儿媳犯奸淫。

为了耶罗波安所犯的罪，又为了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和华必丢弃以色列人。”

他们心怀诡诈，现在要承担这罪的惩罚。耶和华必拆毁他们的祭坛，毁坏他们的柱像。

拉吉的居民哪！要用快马套车，这就是锡安子民（“子民”原文作“女子”）罪恶的开端；因为以色列的过犯，都在你那里找到了。

撒玛利亚的居民必因伯．亚文的牛犊而惧怕；拜牛犊的人民必为它哀恸。拜牛犊的祭司必为它哀号，都因它的荣耀离开它而被掳去了。

在那些日子，人要求死，却决不得死；切愿要死，死却远离他们。
