How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

But Christ offered himself to God without any flaw. He did this through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. So how much cleaner will the blood of Christ make us! It washes away our feelings of guilt for committing sin. Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

but by precious blood like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb, namely Christ.

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

He has no need to do every day what those priests do, to offer sacrifices first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people, since he did this in offering himself once for all.

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good.

in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.

and from Jesus Christ– the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood

and do not present your members to sin as instruments to be used for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments to be used for righteousness.

Therefore we must progress beyond the elementary instructions about Christ and move on to maturity, not laying this foundation again: repentance from dead works and faith in God,

and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

The LORD is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King. When he shows his anger the earth shakes. None of the nations can stand up to his fury.

But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, may serve him without fear,

For otherwise would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers would have been purified once for all and so have no further consciousness of sin?

For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God.

Now if their transgression means riches for the world and their defeat means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full restoration bring?

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit sparingly.

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you are saved!–

And what mutual agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said,“ I will live in them and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

I have issued an edict that throughout all the dominion of my kingdom people are to revere and fear the God of Daniel.“ For he is the living God; he endures forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed; his authority is forever.

You must not present anything that has a flaw, because it will not be acceptable for your benefit.

For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes– his eternal power and divine nature– have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.

For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree?

He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth.

The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms; he has driven out enemies before you, and has said,“ Destroy!”

“‘ On the first day of each month you must offer as a burnt offering to the LORD two young bulls, one ram, and seven unblemished lambs a year old,

This was a symbol for the time then present, when gifts and sacrifices were offered that could not perfect the conscience of the worshiper.

By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped as he leaned on his staff.

If they have any kind of blemish– lameness, blindness, or anything else– you may not offer them as a sacrifice to the LORD your God.

And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, how much more will he clothe you, you people of little faith!

with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent, and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.

Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!

For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever, whose name is holy:“ I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the discouraged.

Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.

Surely when wicked men have killed an innocent man as he slept in his own house, should I not now require his blood from your hands and remove you from the earth?”

until the day he was taken up to heaven, after he had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.

“ This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD has commanded:‘ Instruct the Israelites to bring you a red heifer without blemish, which has no defect and has never carried a yoke.You must give it to Eleazar the priest so that he can take it outside the camp, and it must be slaughtered before him.Eleazar the priest is to take some of its blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of the blood seven times directly in front of the tent of meeting.Then the heifer must be burned in his sight– its skin, its flesh, its blood, and its offal is to be burned.And the priest must take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet wool and throw them into the midst of the fire where the heifer is burning.Then the priest must wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and afterward he may come into the camp, but the priest will be ceremonially unclean until evening.The one who burns it must wash his clothes in water and bathe himself in water. He will be unclean; his uncleanness remains on him.“‘ This is the law: When a man dies in a tent, anyone who comes into the tent and all who are in the tent will be ceremonially unclean seven days.And every open container that has no covering fastened on it is unclean.And whoever touches the body of someone killed with a sword in the open fields, or the body of someone who died of natural causes, or a human bone, or a grave, will be unclean seven days.“‘ For a ceremonially unclean person you must take some of the ashes of the heifer burnt for purification from sin and pour fresh running water over them in a vessel.Then a ceremonially clean person must take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all its furnishings, and on the people who were there, or on the one who touched a bone, or one killed, or one who died, or a grave.And the clean person must sprinkle the unclean on the third day and on the seventh day; and on the seventh day he must purify him, and then he must wash his clothes, and bathe in water, and he will be clean in the evening.But the man who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person must be cut off from among the community, because he has polluted the sanctuary of the LORD; the water of purification was not sprinkled on him, so he is unclean.“‘ So this will be a perpetual ordinance for them: The one who sprinkles the water of purification must wash his clothes, and the one who touches the water of purification will be unclean until evening.

Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

You must not sacrifice to him a bull or sheep that has a blemish or any other defect, because that is considered offensive to the LORD your God.

For people everywhere report how you welcomed us and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God

If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Pay attention, LORD, and hear! Open your eyes, LORD, and observe! Listen to the message Sennacherib sent and how he taunts the living God!

David asked the men who were standing near him,“ What will be done for the man who strikes down this Philistine and frees Israel from this humiliation? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he defies the armies of the living God?”

for I know about your rebellion and stubbornness. Indeed, even while I have been living among you to this very day, you have rebelled against the LORD; you will be even more rebellious after my death!

Who is there from the entire human race who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the middle of the fire as we have, and has lived?

“ Here is my servant whom I support, my chosen one in whom I take pleasure. I have placed my spirit on him; he will make just decrees for the nations.

“‘ On the Sabbath day, you must offer two unblemished lambs a year old, and two-tenths of an ephah of finely ground flour as a grain offering, mixed with olive oil, along with its drink offering.

They intended to bury him with criminals, but he ended up in a rich man’s tomb, because he had committed no violent deeds, nor had he spoken deceitfully.

You will say to them,‘ This is the offering made by fire which you must offer to the LORD: two unblemished lambs one year old each day for a continual burnt offering.

how much less man, who is abominable and corrupt, who drinks in evil like water!

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

who was appointed the Son- of- God- in- power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
