The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.

The blood of goats and bulls is sprinkled on people. So are the ashes of a young cow. They are sprinkled on people the law called“ unclean.” The people are sprinkled to make them holy. That makes them“ clean” on the outside.

For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,

Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.

『永恆主所吩咐禮節律的條例是這樣說：你要告訴以色列人把一隻完全沒有殘疾、身上沒有毛病、未曾負過軛的赤色母牛、牽到你這裏來。要把牛交給祭司以利亞撒，人就要把牛牽出營外，在他面前去宰。祭司以利亞撒要用指頭取點兒血，將血向會棚前面彈七次。人要在他眼前燒這母牛，牛的皮和肉、和血、連糞、都要燒。祭司要把香柏木、脣形薄荷、朱紅色線、丟在燒牛的火中。祭司要把衣服洗淨，在水中洗身，然後進營；但那祭司還是不潔淨到晚上。那燒牛的人也要用水把衣服洗淨，在水中洗身，但他還是不潔淨到晚上。要有一個潔淨的人把母牛的屍灰收拾起來，安放在營外潔淨的地方，給以色列人會眾保留着、調作除污穢的水；這是除罪染的。那收拾母牛屍灰的人要把衣服洗淨，但他還是不潔淨到晚上。這要給以色列人和寄居在他們中間的外僑、做永遠的條例。『那觸着死人、觸着任何人類屍體的、就不潔淨七天。那人在第三天第七天要用這除污穢的水除罪染，他就潔淨了；在第三天第七天他若不除罪染，他就不潔淨。凡觸着死人、觸着死了的人類的屍體、而不除罪染的、就要讓永恆主的帳幕蒙不潔，這人必須從以色列中被剪除；因為除污穢的水沒有潑在他身上，他是不潔淨的；他所蒙的不潔還在他身上。『人死在帳棚裏、其法規乃是這樣：凡進那帳棚的、和一切在帳棚裏的、都不潔淨七天。凡敞開着口的器皿、就是沒有蓋上蓋、沒有封上帶子的、也是不潔淨。無論何人在田野上觸着被刀刺死的、或自己死的、或是人類的骨頭、或是墳墓、就不潔淨七天。人要為這不潔淨的人拿些燒成的除罪灰、放在器皿裏，倒上活水。要有一個潔淨的人拿脣形薄荷蘸在這水中，把水灑在帳棚上、和一切器皿、跟帳棚裏的眾人身上，也灑在觸着骨頭，或觸着被刺死的、或自己死的、或觸着墳墓的人身上。第三天第七天那潔淨的人要灑水在不潔淨的人身上，第七天、就使他除了罪染；那人要把衣服洗淨，在水中洗澡，到晚上就潔淨了。『但不潔淨而不除罪染的、這人必須從大眾中被剪除，因為他使永恆主的聖所蒙不潔，除污穢的水又沒有潑在他身上；他是不潔淨的。這要給他們做永遠的條例。並且那灑除污穢水的人也要把衣服洗淨；那觸着除污穢水的、也不潔淨到晚上。

他要取公牛的一點兒血，用指頭彈在除罪蓋的東面；他要用指頭把血彈在除罪蓋的前面彈七次。『他要宰那為人民做解罪祭的公山羊，把羊的血帶進帷帳內，用這血行禮，像他用公牛的血行禮一樣，彈血在除罪蓋上面，又彈在除罪蓋前面。因以色列人的不潔淨、和過犯、跟一切的罪、他要為至聖所除罪染；為會棚也要這樣行，因為那是在他們的不潔淨中間、和他們同住的。

你們既因聽從真理而使心裏清潔，以致有親如弟兄之相愛而不假裝，就該從心裏彼此熱切地相愛。

求你用牛膝草給我除罪污，我就潔淨；給我洗清，我就比雪更白。

在我們與他們之間、上帝並不加以分別，都是藉着人的信、潔淨人的心。

你使他們潔淨要這樣行：用除罪水彈在他們身上；叫他們用剃刀把全身剃過，把衣服洗淨、潔淨自己。
