Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.

試思先祖亞伯拉罕、以所獲之極品什一贈之、其人之尊為何如耶、

爾試思之、先祖亞伯拉罕、取戰時所獲者十分之一、輸麥基洗德、則其尊為何若、

爾試思之、祖亞伯拉罕、以所獲者什取一以供之、則其人之尊貴何如、

爾等盍一思之、我先祖亞伯漢、且以其戰利珍品什一以貢焉、則麥基德之尊貴為何如乎？

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

Think how great Melchizedek was! Even our father Abraham gave him a tenth of what he had captured.

See how great this man was to whom Abraham the patriarch gave a tenth of the spoils!

Consider then how great this Melchizedek was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Israel, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle.

Now consider how great this man was: even Abraham the patriarch gave a tenth of the plunder to him.

Now observe how great this man was to whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth of the choicest spoils.

Now consider how great this man was, unto whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the chief spoils.

Now consider how great this man was— even Abraham the patriarch gave a tenth of the plunder to him!

Now consider how great this man[ was], unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

But see how great he must be, if Abraham the patriarch gave him a tithe of his plunder.

Now consider how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the best plunder.

“ Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.

Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.“ And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

( as it is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed— God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken,“ So shall your descendants be.”

And the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imputed to them also,and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised.For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
