律法委任的大祭司都有软弱，但在律法以后，誓言保证的话语所委任的儿子，却永远完全。

律法本是立软弱的人为大祭司；但在律法以后起誓的话，是立儿子为大祭司，乃是成全到永远的。

For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

可是耶稣藉着对他说话的那一位是有誓言保证的：“主起了誓，不会后悔：‘你是祭司，直到永远。’”

但在末后的这些日子里，神藉着他的儿子向我们说话。神预定了他为万有的继承人，也藉着他造了宇宙。

万有因他而有、万有藉他而成的那一位，既然要带领许多儿女归于荣耀，就藉着苦难使他们救恩的元首得以成全，这是合宜的，

每一个从人间选出来的大祭司，都是受委任替人办理属神的事，要为罪孽献上礼物和祭物。他能体谅那些不明白而被迷惑的人，因为他自己也被软弱所困。

但基督是做为儿子，忠心管理神的家。如果我们持守所确信的和所夸耀的盼望，我们就是神的家。

同样，也不是基督荣耀了自己成为大祭司，而是曾经对他说“你是我的儿子，我今天生了你”的那一位荣耀了他；

他虽然是儿子，还是从他所受的苦难中，学了顺从。他既然得以完全，就为所有顺从他的人成了永恒救恩的本源，

耶稣对他们说：“你们去告诉那狐狸：看哪！今天明天我驱赶鬼魔、治愈疾病，然后在第三天，我的事就得以完成了。

耶稣尝了酸酒后，就说：“成了！”然后垂下头，交出了灵魂。

但由于耶稣永远长存，就拥有永恒不变的祭司职份；

耶和华起了誓，绝不后悔；他说：“你是照着麦基洗德的等级，永远作祭司。”

他没有父亲，没有母亲，没有族谱，没有年岁的开始，也没有生命的终结，与神的儿子相似，持久做祭司，直到永远。

所以，我们既然有一位已经越过了诸天的、尊贵的大祭司——神的儿子耶稣，我们就要持守信仰告白；
