For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

It is clear that our Lord came from the family line of Judah. Moses said nothing about priests who were from the tribe of Judah.

What I mean is, our Lord came from the tribe of Judah, and Moses never mentioned priests coming from that tribe.

Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses said nothing concerning priests.

“ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

Do you suppose, O man— you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself— that you will escape the judgment of God?

I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.

And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

( as it is written in the Law of the Lord,“ Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”)and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord,“ a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,“ Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;for my eyes have seen your salvationthat you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.

“ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called:‘ The Lord is our righteousness.’

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah( but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan); and the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
