For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and produces vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;

蓋地既霑屢降之雨、而生百蔬、適耕者之用、則受祝於上帝、

譬如土壤、時雨潤之、百物生之、農夫利之、上帝培之、

譬諸地土、屢得雨潤而生百物、供耕者之用、則天主必降福於斯地、

譬如地土、甘霖時降、飽受滋潤、而產百穀、有益於耕耘之人、則天主福焉。

Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.

Some land drinks the rain that falls on it. It produces a crop that is useful to those who farm the land. That land receives God’s blessing.

For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendants;

Therefore be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.

Sow for yourselves, with a view to righteousness; Harvest in accordance with kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, For it is time to seek the Lord Until He comes and rains righteousness on you.

They give drink to every animal of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.The birds of the sky dwell beside them; They lift up their voices from among the branches.He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

Do not fear, land; shout for joy and rejoice, For the Lord has done great things.Do not fear, animals of the field, For the pastures of the wilderness have turned green, For the tree has produced its fruit, The fig tree and the vine have yielded in full.So shout for joy, you sons of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has brought down for you the rain, The early and latter rain as before.The threshing floors will be full of grain, And the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil.“ Then I will compensate you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust— My great army which I sent among you.You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied, And you will praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; Then My people will never be put to shame.

You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; The stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for so You prepare the earth.You water its furrows abundantly, You settle its ridges, You soften it with showers, You bless its growth.You have crowned the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with fatness.The pastures of the wilderness drip, And the hills encircle themselves with rejoicing.The meadows are clothed with flocks And the valleys are covered with grain; They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

And the Lord will give you more than enough prosperity, in the children of your womb, in the offspring of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless every work of your hand; and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it produce and sprout, And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it.For you will go out with joy And be led in peace; The mountains and the hills will break into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.Instead of the thorn bush, the juniper will come up, And instead of the stinging nettle, the myrtle will come up; And it will be a memorial to the Lord, An everlasting sign which will not be eliminated.”

He will receive a blessing from the Lord And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

So he came close and kissed him; and when he smelled the smell of his garments, he blessed him and said,“ See, the smell of my son Is like the smell of a field which the Lord has blessed;

I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing. And I will make showers fall in their season; they will be showers of blessing.

One who goes here and there weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

then I will so order My blessing for you in the sixth year that it will bring forth the produce for three years.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the Lord of armies,“ if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
