神四十年之久，又厌烦谁呢？岂不是那些犯罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

上帝向谁发怒四十年之久呢？岂不是那些犯罪而陈尸在旷野的人吗？

四十年之久惹上帝发怒的是谁呢？不就是那些犯罪作恶并倒毙在旷野的人吗？

四十年之久，神向谁发怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陈尸旷野的人吗？

神又向谁发怒了四十年之久呢？难道不是那些犯了罪、尸首倒在旷野的人吗？

神向誰發怒四十年之久呢？豈不是那些犯罪而陳屍在曠野的人嗎？

四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？

四十年之久，神向誰發怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陳屍曠野的人嗎？

上帝四十年厭惡誰呢？豈不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人麼？

神又向誰發怒了四十年之久呢？難道不是那些犯了罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？

又四十年彼所不悅者誰耶、非干罰而屍仆於野者乎、

上帝於四十載中憾誰、非犯罪而暴骨於野者乎、

天主於四十年間怒誰、非犯罪而屍仆於曠野者乎、

天主所謂：「厭惡斯代、垂四十春」者、又誰耶？非多行不義、卒至暴屍曠野者乎？

And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?

Who was God angry with for 40 years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned? They died in the desert.

And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?

With whom was God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

But with whom was he grieved forty years?[ was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?

With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness, all your numbered men according to your complete number from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against Me.

Now I want to remind you, though you know everything once and for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.

Speak,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ The corpses of people will fall like dung on the open field, And like the sheaf after the reaper, But no one will gather them.’ ”

But as for you, your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness.Also, your sons will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years, and they will suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your bodies perish in the wilderness.

Certainly all the people who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice,

But among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.For the Lord had said of them,“ They shall certainly die in the wilderness.” And not a man was left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

Indeed, the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from within the camp until they all perished.“ So it came about, when all the men of war had finally perished from among the people,

For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, that our fathers were all under the cloud and they all passed through the sea;and they all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;and they all ate the same spiritual food,and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased; for their dead bodies were spread out in the wilderness.Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as they indeed craved them.Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written:“ The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.”Nor are we to commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and twenty three thousand fell in one day.Nor are we to put the Lord to the test, as some of them did, and were killed by the snakes.Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer.Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.Therefore let the one who thinks he stands watch out that he does not fall.No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
