And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

又向誰起誓，不容他們進入他的安息呢？豈不是向那些不信從的人嗎？

上帝起誓不准誰進入祂的安息呢？不就是那些不肯信從的人嗎？

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕對不可以進入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不順從的人嗎？

他向誰起誓說、他們必不得以進入他的安息呢？豈不是向那些硬不信從的人是向誰呢？

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕不能進入他的安息呢？難道不是向那些不肯信從的人嗎？

又誓之不得入其安息者誰耶、非不順從者乎、

上帝誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非不信之徒乎、

天主誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非違背違背或作不信之人乎、

天主所誓：「不令入吾安寧」者、又誰耶？非心懷狐疑之諸悖逆乎？

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?

God promised that those people would never enjoy the rest he planned for them. God gave his word when he made that promise. Didn’t he make that promise to those who didn’t obey?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?

And who did He swear to that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?

To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also did; but the word they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united with those who listened with faith.

“ Then the Lord heard the sound of your words, and He was angry and swore an oath, saying,‘ Not one of these men, this evil generation, shall see the good land which I swore to give your fathers,

shall by no means see the land which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who were disrespectful to Me see it.

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

By no means will you come into the land where I swore to settle you, except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ How long will this people be disrespectful to Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, despite all the signs that I have performed in their midst?

“ Yet you were unwilling to go up; instead you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God;and you grumbled in your tents and said,‘ Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to hand us over to the Amorites to destroy us.Where can we go up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, by saying,“ The people are bigger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we saw the sons of the Anakim there.” ’But I said to you,‘ Do not be terrified, nor fear them.The Lord your God, who goes before you, will Himself fight for you, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, on all of the road which you have walked until you came to this place.’Yet in spite of all this, you did not trust the Lord your God,

Then they rejected the pleasant land; They did not believe His word,But grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the Lord.Therefore He swore to them That He would have them fall in the wilderness,

But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Since you did not trust in Me, to treat Me as holy in the sight of the sons of Israel, for that reason you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh barnea, saying,‘ Go up and take possession of the land which I have given you,’ you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; you neither trusted Him nor listened to His voice.

As I swore in My anger,‘ They certainly shall not enter My rest.’ ”
