How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard[ him];

拯救如此之大、我若忽之、胡能逭乎、此乃主始言之、而聞者證於我儕、

斯道、主始言之、聞者徵明於我儕、

我儕若輕忽救道如此之大者、何能逃罪乎、此道主始言之、而聞之者、明證於我儕、

況辜負偌大之救恩、其能僥倖於萬一耶？此救恩自始為主所親傳、而親炙之者又為吾人闡述、鑿鑿有據；

how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

Then how will we escape if we don’t pay attention to God’s great salvation? The Lord first announced this salvation. Those who heard him gave us the message about it.

So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak?

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more[ shall not] we[ escape], if we turn away from him that[ speaketh] from heaven:

Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by[ his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such[ things]? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Behold, God[ is] my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH[ is] my strength and[ my] song; he also is become my salvation.

For the time[ is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if[ it] first[ begin] at us, what shall the end[ be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God,[ even] to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God[ to be] the Judge of quick and dead.

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left[ us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.And ye are witnesses of these things.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with[ them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.

This[ is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these[ things], he shall not escape.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.For such an high priest became us,[ who is] holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such[ is] our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

[ Ye] serpents,[ ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
