For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

因為那由天使宣講之道既這麼確定，以致一切犯法和不聽從的事都當受該受的報應，

要知道，那藉著天使所說的話既然是確定的，連一切過犯和悖逆都受到了應得的報應，

蓋由天使所言若果鞏固、凡干犯不順者、皆受義報、

浸假道藉天使以傳、言出惟行、使諸犯逆、無不遭應得之譴、況吾棄救道、如此之大者、豈能逭乎、

其藉天使所傳之道既確定、凡不順而逆者、皆遭應得之報、

夫以天神所傳之誡命尚且一成不變、有犯必懲；

For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,

Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.

For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.

For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every violation and act of disobedience received a just punishment,

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,

For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,

For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept[ it].

Wherefore then[ serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made;[ and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

Cursed[ be] he that confirmeth not[ all] the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates,[ even] that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

But the soul that doeth[ ought] presumptuously,[ whether he be] born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity[ shall be] upon him.And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses.

But without faith[ it is] impossible to please[ him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and[ that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side,[ and] go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts[ also].And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

And while the flesh[ was] yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God[ are] alive every one of you this day.

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.Neither be ye idolaters, as[ were] some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that[ was] under them:And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that[ appertained] unto Korah, and all[ their] goods.They, and all that[ appertained] to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.And all Israel that[ were] round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up[ also].And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

Say unto them,[ As truly as] I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,Doubtless ye shall not come into the land,[ concerning] which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.But[ as for] you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.After the number of the days in which ye searched the land,[ even] forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities,[ even] forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land,Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before the LORD.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard[ him] lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death,[ and] all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name[ of the LORD], shall be put to death.

The chariots of God[ are] twenty thousand,[ even] thousands of angels: the Lord[ is] among them,[ as in] Sinai, in the holy[ place].
