而救拔一切呻吟於死亡淫威下之生靈耳。

and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Jesus could set people free who were afraid of death. All their lives they were held as slaves by that fear.

and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.

For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self- control.

My heart beats violently within me; the horrors of death overcome me.

that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, may serve him without fear,in holiness and righteousness before him for as long as we live.

Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.Listen, I will tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen,“ Death has been swallowed up in victory.”“ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

He delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him that he will deliver us yet again,

Terrors frighten him on all sides and dog his every step.

His flesh wastes away from sight, and his bones, which were not seen, are easily visible.He draws near to the place of corruption, and his life to the messengers of death.If there is an angel beside him, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what constitutes his uprightness;and if God is gracious to him and says,‘ Spare him from going down to the place of corruption, I have found a ransom for him,’then his flesh is restored like a youth’s; he returns to the days of his youthful vigor.He entreats God, and God delights in him, he sees God’s face with rejoicing, and God restores to him his righteousness.That person sings to others, saying:‘ I have sinned and falsified what is right, but I was not punished according to what I deserved.He redeemed my life from going down to the place of corruption, and my life sees the light!’

when you deliver my life from death. You keep my feet from stumbling, so that I might serve God as I enjoy life.

by saving their lives from death and sustaining them during times of famine.

How desolate they become in a mere moment! Terrifying judgments make their demise complete!

For all of them, the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

No man can live on without experiencing death, or deliver his life from the power of Sheol.( Selah)

He is dragged from the security of his tent, and marched off to the king of terrors.

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand the law?
