Therefore I will not be negligent to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.I think it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,

This is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by reminding you,

God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.

My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Yes, I will make every effort that you may always be able to remember these things even after my departure.

Only be careful, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your children and your children’s children—

How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.

You have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children,“ My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him;

Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love Yahweh your God.“ But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;

Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Yahweh gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed.

Listen, sons, to a father’s instruction. Pay attention and know understanding;for I give you sound learning. Don’t forsake my law.For I was a son to my father, tender and an only child in the sight of my mother.He taught me, and said to me:“ Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live.

He said to them,“ Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you today, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.For it is no vain thing for you, because it is your life, and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”

My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings.Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart.For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation— which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?

Don’t you yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,whose voice shook the earth then, but now he has promised, saying,“ Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heavens.”

Be careful, lest you forget the covenant of Yahweh your God, which he made with you, and make yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which Yahweh your God has forbidden you.

You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink, and be exposed! The cup of Yahweh’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.

“ Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men.”

For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.
