Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.

Don’t let all kinds of strange teachings lead you astray. It is good that God’s grace makes our hearts strong. Don’t try to grow strong by eating foods that the law requires. They have no value for the people who eat them.

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words,[ even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.Unto the pure all things[ are] pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving[ is] nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if[ it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;Forbidding to marry,[ and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.For every creature of God[ is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us,[ is] God;

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath[ days]:Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body[ is] of Christ.Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.As we said before, so say I now again, If any[ man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.And the voice[ spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed,[ that] call not thou common.This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Which[ was] a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;[ Which stood] only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed[ on them] until the time of reformation.

And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort[ you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.For such[ are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.Therefore[ it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body[ is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
