而甘嘗垢辱、毅然肩負苦架。今則安坐天主寶位之右矣。爾等當細心體驗、耶穌當時如何忍受群小之拂逆、庶幾不致灰心而自餒。

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

He made it through these attacks by sinners. So think about him. Then you won’t get tired. You won’t lose hope.

If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.He who hates Me hates My Father also.If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath.

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.

Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;

“ A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!

And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd,“ There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”

And he shall say to them,‘ Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;

Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely.

Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,

But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.

Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said,“ By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Then the Jews said to Him,“ Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say,‘ If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’

And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said,“ He is good”; others said,“ No, on the contrary, He deceives the people.”

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

“ The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.

And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying,“ This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”

Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Now when the Pharisees heard it they said,“ This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd,“ Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”But He answered and said to them,“ I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.

“ Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying,“ Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignantand said to Him,“ Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them,“ Yes. Have you never read,‘ Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?”

The Pharisees therefore said to Him,“ You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true.”

If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying,“ Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying,“ Do You answer the high priest like that?”

Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk.

Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother,“ Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against

Then the Jews answered and said to Him,“ Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”Jesus answered,“ I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things,lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him.

But some of them said,“ He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven.

So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.

Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him,“ Are we blind also?”

Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also,

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.Jesus answered them,“ Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”The Jews answered Him, saying,“ For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”Jesus answered them,“ Is it not written in your law,‘ I said,“ You are gods”’?If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came( and the Scripture cannot be broken),do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.

And many of them said,“ He has a demon and is mad. Why do you listen to Him?”
