飯後，祂又舉起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血立的新約，這血是為你們流的。

耶和華說：「看啊，時候將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，這約不同於我與他們祖先所立的約，就是我牽著他們祖先的手領他們離開埃及時所立的。雖然我是他們的丈夫，他們卻違背了我的約。這是耶和華說的。」耶和華說：「那些日子以後，我將與以色列家立這樣的約，我要把我的律法放在他們腦中，寫在他們心上。我要做他們的上帝，他們要做我的子民。

他又照樣把血灑在聖幕和所有用來獻祭的器具上。

這誓言使耶穌成了更美之約的保證人。

願賜平安的上帝，就是那位憑著立永恆之約的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶穌從死裡復活的上帝，

耶穌說：「這是我為萬人所流的立約之血。

然而，上帝指責祂的百姓，說：「看啊，時候將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新約，

你們要到我這裡來，側耳聽我的話，就必得到生命。我要跟你們立永久的約，將應許給大衛的可靠恩福賜給你們。
