蓋天主之諭曰：『即使走獸觸及此山：亦當石擊以死。』其恐怖之情形、蓋有如此其甚者。

What God commanded was too much for them. He said,“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be killed with stones.”( Exodus 19:12, 13)

For they could not endure the order that was given,“ If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.”

They staggered back under God’s command:“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”

for they could not bear what was commanded: If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.

For they could not cope with the command,“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned.”

( For they could not endure what was commanded:“ And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow.”

for they could not endure that which was enjoined, If even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned;

No person or animal shall be permitted to live.’ Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast may they approach the mountain.”

“ For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled.

He said:“ The Lord came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
