fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high,

When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds.

looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.

Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet- smelling fragrance.

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

“ To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write:“ The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things:

“ Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say?‘ Father, save me from this time?’ But I came to this time for this cause.Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came out of the sky, saying,“ I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and was going to God,

Let’s therefore go out to him outside of the camp, bearing his reproach.

From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or a meddler in other men’s matters.But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn’t respect him.

When he had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

I will wait for Yahweh, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

“ Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation,

searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, pointed to, when he predicted the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would follow them.

For David says concerning him,‘ I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don’t look to the Holy One of Israel, and they don’t seek Yahweh!

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad.”

even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Yahweh will fulfill that which concerns me. Your loving kindness, Yahweh, endures forever. Don’t forsake the works of your own hands.

Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears,“ I believe. Help my unbelief!”

Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.

The apostles said to the Lord,“ Increase our faith.”

Jesus said these things, then lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said,“ Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you;even as you gave him authority over all flesh, so he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him.This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do.

They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.

Then they spat in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him,saying,“ Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?”

He said to them,“ Elijah indeed comes first, and restores all things. How is it written about the Son of Man, that he should suffer many things and be despised?

Herod with his soldiers humiliated him and mocked him. Dressing him in luxurious clothing, they sent him back to Pilate.

He said,“ Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

I gave my back to those who beat me, and my cheeks to those who plucked off the hair. I didn’t hide my face from shame and spitting.For the Lord Yahweh will help me. Therefore I have not been confounded. Therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I won’t be disappointed.

The people stood watching. The rulers with them also scoffed at him, saying,“ He saved others. Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!”The soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar,and saying,“ If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”An inscription was also written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:“ THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”One of the criminals who was hanged insulted him, saying,“ If you are the Christ, save yourself and us!”

The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said,“ Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

Indeed, he says,“ It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

I will pour on David’s house, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.Therefore I will give him a portion with the great. He will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.

( for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment.

“ Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

saying,“ What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yahweh says to my Lord,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”

You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor. My adversaries are all before you.Reproach has broken my heart, and I am full of heaviness. I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; for comforters, but I found none.

“ I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God,“ who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying,“ Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last,

But which of the angels has he told at any time,“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?”

partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

For consider him who has endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, that you don’t grow weary, fainting in your souls.

You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet.But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,“ You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”Previously saying,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them”( those which are offered according to the law),then he has said,“ Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices which can never take away sins,but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people.All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips. They shake their heads, saying,“ He trusts in Yahweh. Let him deliver him. Let him rescue him, since he delights in him.”

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying,“ Hail, King of the Jews!”They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.When they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.When they came to a place called“ Golgotha”, that is to say,“ The place of a skull,”they gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots,and they sat and watched him there.They set up over his head the accusation against him written,“ THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,and saying,“ You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,“ He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.About the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,“ Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?” That is,“ My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said,“ This man is calling Elijah.”Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.The rest said,“ Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him.”Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.
