For you have not come to something that can be touched, to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwind

你們不是來到那可觸摸的山，那裏有火焰、密雲、黑暗、暴風、

你們並非來到那座摸得到、有火焰、烏雲、黑暗、狂風、

你們不是來到那座摸得著的山。那裡有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、

因為你們上了的並不是一個可摸觸的山：那裏有燒𤏲的火、與昏黑幽冥和旋風、

你們並不是來到了摸得著的山、燃燒著的火、陰雲、幽暗、風暴、

夫爾非至可捫火炎之山、及幽冥、昏暗、暴風、

爾所至者、非有形之山、在彼火焰靉靆、幽暗暴風、

爾所至者、非彼可捫之山、在彼有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、

應知爾今所陟者、非一有形之山、其上有火焰靉靆、幽冥暴風。

You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;

You haven’t come to a mountain that can be touched. You haven’t come to a mountain burning with fire. You haven’t come to darkness, gloom and storm.

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest

You have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai.

For you have not come to what could be touched, to a blazing fire, to darkness, gloom, and storm,

For you have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind,

For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,

For ye are not come unto a mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

For you have not come to what could be touched, to a blazing fire, to darkness, gloom, and storm,

For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,

You approached and stood at the foot of the mountain, a mountain ablaze to the sky above it and yet dark with a thick cloud.

All the people were seeing the thundering and the lightning, and heard the sound of the horn, and saw the mountain smoking– and when the people saw it they trembled with fear and kept their distance.

The LORD said these things to your entire assembly at the mountain from the middle of the fire, the cloud, and the darkness with a loud voice, and that was all he said. Then he inscribed the words on two stone tablets and gave them to me.Then, when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness while the mountain was ablaze, all your tribal leaders and elders approached me.You said,“ The LORD our God has shown us his great glory and we have heard him speak from the middle of the fire. It is now clear to us that God can speak to human beings and they can keep on living.But now, why should we die, because this intense fire will consume us! If we keep hearing the voice of the LORD our God we will die!Who is there from the entire human race who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the middle of the fire as we have, and has lived?

Now the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in plain view of the people.

For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self- control.

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry,“ Abba, Father.”

For if there was glory in the ministry that produced condemnation, how much more does the ministry that produces righteousness excel in glory!

You must set boundaries for the people all around, saying,‘ Take heed to yourselves not to go up on the mountain nor touch its edge. Whoever touches the mountain will surely be put to death!No hand will touch him– but he will surely be stoned or shot through, whether a beast or a human being; he must not live.’ When the ram’s horn sounds a long blast they may go up on the mountain.”Then Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.He said to the people,“ Be ready for the third day. Do not go near your wives.”On the third day in the morning there was thunder and lightning and a dense cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a very loud horn; all the people who were in the camp trembled.Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their place at the foot of the mountain.Now Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a great furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently.When the sound of the horn grew louder and louder, Moses was speaking and God was answering him with a voice.The LORD came down on Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain, and the LORD summoned Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.The LORD said to Moses,“ Go down and solemnly warn the people, lest they force their way through to the LORD to look, and many of them perish.Let the priests also, who approach the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break through against them.”

For sin will have no mastery over you, because you are not under law but under grace.
