愚者後至、叩曰：「主乎主乎、乞為啟戶！」主應曰：「吾實語爾、予不爾識也。」

予將明以告之曰：「爾作惡之徒、非予素識、其去無留！」

曰『爾等當勉入窄門。予實語爾、欲入而不得入者、眾矣。迨家主一興而扃其門、爾等始立門外而叩曰：「主為我啟。」主將答曰：「吾不識爾為何許人也。」爾將曰：「吾嘗飲食於爾前、爾嘗施訓於吾巷矣。」彼將語爾曰：「吾實不識爾為何許人也。作惡之徒、其悉離吾！」

蓋人若曾蒙光照、曾味靈寵、曾受聖神、曾悟天主聖道之盡善盡美、與夫新興時代之偉大、而竟中途背棄聖道、若而人者、不啻親手重釘基督於十字架上、且當眾而辱之也。欲其再行悔過自新、尚可得乎？

夫吾人既認識真道、如再明知故犯、則不復有贖罪之祭、而其所餘者、惟觳觫待刑、以候吞滅悖逆之燎火而已。昔人干犯摩西律法、根據二三人之證言、尚且殺之無貸；何況蹂躪天主聖子、輕慢聖德所本之盟血、褻瀆恩寵所自之聖神、爾謂其所當受之刑罰、更堪設想乎！
