By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

彼以信而去埃及、不畏王怒、蓋堅忍如見莫能見者、

摩西有信、則離埃及不惴王怒、其恆心如見無形之上帝、

彼有信、離伊及不畏王怒、彼有恆心、如見不可見者、

厥後又憑信德、不恤君王之震怒、而逃出埃及。蓋其心目中常有形而上之天主、故能百折不撓、磨而不磷也。

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

Because of his faith, Moses left Egypt. It wasn’t because he was afraid of the king’s anger. He didn’t let anything stop him. That’s because he saw the God who can’t be seen.

By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees him who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he persevered, as though seeing Him who is unseen.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

By faith he left Egypt behind, not being afraid of the king’s anger, for Moses persevered as one who sees Him who is invisible.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Then he said,“ Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” So Moses feared and said,“ Surely this thing is known!”When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.Then they said to Moses,“ Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying,‘ Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”And Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.

Then Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!”So Moses said,“ You have spoken well. I will never see your face again.”

Thus all the children of Israel did; as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Now the Lord said to Moses in Midian,“ Go, return to Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”

Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds— a great deal of livestock.And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years— on that very same day— it came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.It is a night of solemn observance to the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of the Lord, a solemn observance for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.

And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD’s Passover.

But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said,“ Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt.”So God led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea. And the children of Israel went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had placed the children of Israel under solemn oath, saying,“ God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.”So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness.And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

For David says concerning Him:‘ I foresaw the Lord always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.

whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying,‘ Get out, and all the people who follow you!’ After that I will go out.” Then he went out from Pharaoh in great anger.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord— that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
