故此竟從一個人、又是彷彿死了的、生出子孫來，像天上的星辰那麼眾多，像海濱的沙那麼無數。

所以從一個如同已經死了的人，就生出了許多人，像天空的星那樣眾多，像海邊的沙那樣無法數算。

故自一人猶已死者、生育如天星之繁多、海沙之無數、○

是以一人血氣雖衰、生育蕃衍、如眾星之在天、猶海沙之無量、

故由一人、身若已死者、生育蕃衍、如天星之眾、如海沙之無數、

因此之故、以一衰邁瀕死之人、其所出子孫、如天上之星、海濱之沙、有不可勝數者焉。

And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

Abraham was past the time when he could have children. But many children came from that one man. They were as many as the stars in the sky. They were as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one could count them.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead— a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them.

Therefore, from one man— in fact, from one as good as dead— came offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and as innumerable as the grains of sand along the seashore.

Therefore even from one man, and one who was as good as dead at that, there were born descendants who were just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude— innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea- shore, innumerable.

So in fact children were fathered by one man– and this one as good as dead– like the number of stars in the sky and like the innumerable grains of sand on the seashore.

Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.

我必賜福給你，使你的後裔多如天上的星和海邊的沙。你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城池，

然而，你曾說，『我必厚待你，使你的後代多如海沙，不可勝數。』」

耶和華把亞伯蘭帶到外面，對他說：「你抬頭看看天空，數數繁星，你能數得盡嗎？你的後裔必這麼多。」

以色列啊，你的人民雖多如海沙，將只有剩餘的人歸回。充滿公義的毀滅之事已定。

我必使你的後代多如繁星，將這些土地都賜給他們，天下萬國必因你的後裔而蒙福。

亞伯拉罕在上帝面前是我們所有人的父，正如聖經上說：「我已經立你為萬族之父。」他所信的上帝是能夠使死人復活、使無變有的上帝。他在毫無指望的情況下仍然滿懷盼望地相信上帝的應許，因而成為「萬族之父」，正如上帝的應許：「你的後裔必這麼多」。那時他將近百歲，知道自己身體如同已死，撒拉也過了生育的歲數，但他的信心仍然沒有動搖。

這些王便率領自己的軍隊，帶著許多馬匹和戰車傾巢出動，人數多如海邊的沙。

因為你們的上帝耶和華使你們人丁興旺，以致今天人數多如天上的星星。

你使他們的子孫多如天上的星星，你帶領他們進入你應許他們祖先的土地。

求你顧念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒和以色列，你曾憑自己向他們起誓說，『我必使你們的後代像天上的星星那麼多。我應許給你們後代的這整片土地，我必賜給他們作永遠的產業。』」

牠會再度欺騙天下各國，就是歌革和瑪各，叫他們召集軍隊準備打仗，軍隊的數目多如海沙。

撒母耳對他們說：「耶和華和祂所膏立的王今天為我作證，我沒有拿過你們任何人的東西。」他們說：「是的，耶和華為證。」

米甸人、亞瑪力人及東方人像蝗蟲一樣佈滿山谷，他們的駱駝如海邊的沙一樣不計其數。

你的後裔必多如海沙，你的子孫必像細沙一樣不可勝數，他們的名號絕不會從我面前被剷除、被消滅。」

大衛沒有統計二十歲以下的以色列人，因為耶和華曾經應許要使以色列的人數像天上的星那樣多。

如果你們不聽從你們的上帝耶和華的話，即使你們的人數多如天上的星，也將所剩無幾。

因此，我認為你應該把從但到別示巴的那多如海沙的以色列人都聚集起來，然後你親自率領他們出征。

關於以色列人，以賽亞先知曾疾呼：「以色列人雖多如海沙，但得救的只是剩餘的人，

猶大人和以色列人多如海沙，豐衣足食，生活幸福。

他們殘暴成性，像狂風一樣撲來，抓獲的俘虜多如塵沙。
