「耶和華啊，求你垂聽我的禱告，傾聽我的呼求，別對我的眼淚視若無睹。因為我在你面前只是客旅，是寄居的，正如我的祖先。

「我是寄居在你們這裡的異鄉人，請你們給我一塊地，我好埋葬我的亡妻。」

這些人都因信心而獲得讚許，但他們並未得到上帝的應許，

他憑信心離開埃及，不怕王的憤怒。他堅忍不拔，好像看見了肉眼不能看見的主。

我知道我的救贖主活著，最後祂必站在地上。

雅各回答說：「我在世上寄居一百三十年了，我的日子又苦又短，不像我祖先那樣高壽。」

從此，你們不再是外人或過客，你們與眾聖徒一樣是天國的子民，是上帝家裡的人了。

享盡天年，壽終正寢，歸到他祖先那裡。

「耶和華啊，我切切等候你的拯救。

我實在告訴你們，以前有許多先知和義人曾渴望看見你們所看見的，聽見你們所聽見的，卻未能如願。

有關這救恩，那些預言恩典要臨到你們的眾先知早已詳細尋求查考了。基督的靈曾在他們心中指示他們，預言基督要受苦，然後得榮耀。他們便詳細查考這些事會在什麼時候、什麼情況下發生。他們得到啟示，知道他們傳講這些事不是為了自己，而是為了你們。現在，那些靠著從天上差來的聖靈向你們傳福音的人，已經將這些事傳給你們了。連天使也想把這些事看個明白。

他完全相信上帝必能實現祂的應許。

以撒說：「我年老了，不知道還能活多久。現在，帶著你的弓箭去田野為我打些野味來，照我喜歡的口味，做成美食給我吃，以便我在死前給你祝福。」

親愛的弟兄姊妹，你們是客旅，是寄居的，我勸你們要禁戒與靈魂為敵的邪情私慾。

既然你們稱呼那位按各人的行為公正無私地審判人的上帝為父，就應該存著敬畏的心過你們在世上寄居的日子。

一天，約瑟對他的弟兄們說：「我快要死了，但上帝必看顧你們，帶你們離開這裡，回到祂起誓應許給亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的地方。」

雅各囑咐完眾子，在床上躺下，嚥了氣，去他祖先那裡了。

我所見的尚未發生，我目睹的關乎將來。一顆星要從雅各家升起，一位君王要從以色列興起。他要打爛摩押的前額，擊碎舍特人的頭顱。

以賽亞看見了祂的榮耀，所以才這樣說。

王權必不離猶大，御杖必伴他左右，直到那位執掌王權的來到，萬民都必歸順他。

以上是以色列的十二支派，他們的父親按著他們不同的福分給他們祝福。
