Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me;

What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt- offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he- goats.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in; Mine ears hast thou opened: Burnt- offering and sin- offering hast thou not required.Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.

And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Then said I, Lo, I am come( In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us( and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; And thy burnt- offerings are continually before me.I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he- goats out of thy folds.For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.I know all the birds of the mountains; And the wild beasts of the field are mine.If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High;And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,Seeing that thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his way aright Will I show the salvation of God.

but when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God.

and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.Yea, though ye offer me your burnt- offerings and meal- offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace- offerings of your fat beasts.

How long wilt thou go hither and thither, O thou backsliding daughter? for Jehovah hath created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already.

and said unto him, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that this high priest also have somewhat to offer.

And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to the Lord, saying, Art thou he that cometh, or look we for another?

To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt- offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me.
