夫以天上事物之影像、尚須以此等儀式滌而淨之、是知天上事物之本體、宜用更妙之祭獻而聖之矣。

於此聖神之微意可見矣。蓋前幕一日尚存、則至閟帷之路、一日未克暢通。前幕乃現世之象徵也。凡現世所獻之禮品祭祀、皆不能使敬禮者之良心、臻於清明純粹之境界。

彼亦無須迭次自獻、如通常大司祭之必須歲攜不屬自身之血、以進閟帷也。

一般司祭、雖朝朝束身奉事、而供獻千遍一律之祭祀、終不能脫吾人於罪累也。惟基督之獻身贖罪、則一勞永逸、而坐於天主之右、以俟諸敵之屈伏。蓋一經基督之自獻、而受聖者咸得成全於永古矣。聖神於此亦供其證曰：『時既至、將與義塞約如次：欲將吾誡命、置彼腔子裏；真諦與妙道、深深銘腑肺。』又曰：『吾願寬宥其諸惡、不欲再念其罪行。』夫諸罪既蒙寬赦、自不復有贖罪之祭矣。

然稽諸事實、則歲歲獻祭、年年懷罪。無他、牛羊之血、固不能洗滌罪孽也。
