For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, That grim and impetuous people Who march throughout the earth, To take possession of dwelling places that are not theirs.

我要使凶残、暴虐的迦勒底人兴起。他们要席卷天下，强占别人的家园。

就是要兴起迦勒底人，那残忍凶暴的民；他们遍行全地，占领别人的家园。

我必興起迦勒底人，就是那殘忍暴躁之民，通行遍地，佔據那不屬自己的住處。

我要使兇殘、暴虐的迦勒底人興起。他們要席捲天下，強佔別人的家園。

因為你看吧，我在激起迦勒底人、那殘酷暴躁的國、那向廣大地區進發、佔據不屬自己住處的。

我將興起迦勒底人是乃殘酷暴躁之邦、徧行大地、據非己之居所、

我將使迦勒底人振興、殘忍疾作、遍行天下、強據邦國、

我將使迦勒底人興起、斯族殘忍暴躁、徧行天下、天下原文作寛闊之地強據非己之邑、

I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwellings not their own.

I am going to send the armies of Babylon to attack you. They are very mean. They move quickly. They sweep across the whole earth. They take over homes that do not belong to them.

For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, who march through the breadth of the earth, to seize dwellings not their own.

I am raising up the Babylonians, a cruel and violent people. They will march across the world and conquer other lands.

Look! I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter, impetuous nation that marches across the earth’s open spaces to seize territories not its own.

For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling- places that are not theirs.

Look! I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter, impetuous nation that marches across the earth’s open spaces to seize territories not its own.

For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans,[ that] bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces[ that are] not theirs.

Look, I am about to empower the Babylonians, that ruthless and greedy nation. They sweep across the surface of the earth, seizing dwelling places that do not belong to them.

For, behold, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

And the Lord sent against him bands of Chaldeans, bands of Arameans, bands of Moabites, and bands of Ammonites. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word of the Lord which He had spoken through His servants the prophets.

Behold, I am bringing a nation against you from far away, you house of Israel,” declares the Lord.“ It is an enduring nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and hissing, and an everlasting place of ruins.

‘ Behold, the days are coming when everything that is in your house, and what your fathers have stored up to this day, will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord.‘ And some of your sons who will come from you, whom you will father, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’ ”

“ The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down; a nation whose language you will not understand,a nation with a defiant attitude, who will have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young.Furthermore, it will eat the offspring of your herd and the produce of your ground until you are destroyed; a nation that will leave you no grain, new wine, or oil, nor the newborn of your cattle or the young of your flock, until they have eliminated you.And it will besiege you in all your towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout your land, and it will besiege you in all your towns throughout your land which the Lord your God has given you.

This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, there is a people coming from the north land, And a great nation will be stirred up from the remote parts of the earth.They seize bow and spear; They are cruel and have no mercy; Their voice roars like the sea, And they ride on horses, Lined up as a man for the battle Against you, daughter of Zion!”

Behold, the land of the Chaldeans— this is the people that did not exist; Assyria allocated it for desert creatures— they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, they made it a ruin.

‘ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:“ Behold, I am going to turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you are making war against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall; and I will gather them into the middle of this city.

So He brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or frail; He handed them all over to him.

For this, put on sackcloth, Mourn and wail; For the fierce anger of the Lord Has not turned away from us.”

For, behold, I am calling all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” declares the Lord;“ and they will come and place, each one of them, his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls around, and against all the cities of Judah.And I will pronounce My judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, since they have abandoned Me and have offered sacrifices to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against him and bound him with bronze chains to take him to Babylon.

Raise a flag toward Zion! Take refuge, do not stand still, For I am bringing evil from the north, And great destruction.
