民自相爭、虐遇攘奪、至於召禍、爾何使我目睹乎、

何為使我目睹不義、人行惡作慝、人行惡作慝或作人行奸惡主何為徒觀、攘奪與兇暴恆於我前、怨隙滋生、爭端紛起、

Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.

Why do you make me watch while people treat others so unfairly? Why do you put up with the wrong things they are doing? I have to look at death. People are harming others. They are arguing and fighting all the time.

Why do you make me see iniquity, and why do you idly look at wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise.

Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery? Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight.

Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.

Confuse them, Lord, divide their tongues, For I have seen violence and strife in the city.Day and night they go around her upon her walls, And evil and harm are in her midst.Destruction is in her midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from her streets.

Woe to me! For I am Like harvests of summer fruit, like gleanings of grapes. There is not a cluster of grapes left to eat, Nor an early fig, which I crave.The godly person has perished from the land, And there is no upright person among mankind. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a net.As for evil, both hands do it well. The leader asks for a bribe, also the judge, And the great one speaks the capricious desire of his soul; So they plot it together.The best of them is like a thorn bush, The most upright like a thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, Your punishment is coming. Then their confusion will occur.

For each time I speak, I cry aloud; I proclaim violence and destruction, Because for me the word of the Lord has resulted In taunting and derision all day long.

Oh that I had in the desert A travelers’ lodging place; So that I might leave my people And go away from them! For all of them are adulterers, An assembly of treacherous people.“ They bend their tongues like their bows; Lies and not truth prevail in the land; For they proceed from evil to evil, And they do not know Me,” declares the Lord.“ Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, And do not trust any brother; Because every brother utterly betrays, And every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.Everyone deceives his neighbor And does not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies; They weary themselves committing wrongdoing.Your dwelling is in the midst of deceit; Through deceit they refuse to know Me,” declares the Lord.

If you see oppression of the poor and denial of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be shocked at the sight; for one official watches over another official, and there are higher officials over them.

( for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds),

Help, Lord, for the godly person has come to an end, For the faithful have disappeared from the sons of mankind.They speak lies to one another; They speak with flattering lips and a double heart.

Woe to me, for I reside in Meshech, For I have settled among the tents of Kedar!Too long has my soul had its dwelling With those who hate peace.

“ Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be as wary as serpents, and as innocent as doves.

For I was envious of the arrogant As I saw the prosperity of the wicked.For there are no pains in their death, And their belly is fat.They are not in trouble like other people, Nor are they tormented together with the rest of mankind.Therefore arrogance is their necklace; The garment of violence covers them.Their eye bulges from fatness; The imaginations of their heart overflow.They mock and wickedly speak of oppression; They speak from on high.They have set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue parades through the earth.

Then I looked again at all the acts of oppression which were being done under the sun. And behold, I saw the tears of the oppressed and that they had no one to comfort them; and power was on the side of their oppressors, but they had no one to comfort them.

And as for you, son of man, you are not to fear them nor fear their words, though thistles and thorns are with you and you sit on scorpions; you are not to fear their words nor be dismayed at their presence, since they are a rebellious house.
