過了安息日，抹大拉的馬利亞、雅各的母親馬利亞，和撒羅米，買了香料，要去膏耶穌的身體。

尼哥德慕也來了，就是先前夜裏去見耶穌的那位，他帶着約一百斤的沒藥和沉香。他們照猶太人喪葬的規矩，用細麻布加上香料，把耶穌的身體裹好了。

她把這香膏澆在我身上是為我安葬作準備的。

她所做的是盡她所能的；她是為了我的安葬，把香膏預先澆在我身上。

耶穌說：「由她吧！她這香膏本是為我的安葬之日留着的。

七日的第一日，黎明的時候，那些婦女帶着所預備的香料來到墳墓那裏，
