So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them.

雅各的儿子们就遵着他父亲所吩咐的办了，

雅各的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐去办了，

雅各的儿子们遵照父亲的吩咐去办了，

以色列的儿子们遵照父亲的遗言，

雅各的众子就照着父亲嘱咐他们的去作，

这样，雅各的儿子们就照着父亲吩咐他们的为他去做：

雅各的兒子們就遵着他父親所吩咐的辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

雅各的兒子們遵照父親的吩咐去辦了，

以色列的兒子們遵照父親的遺言，

雅各的眾子就照著父親囑咐他們的去作，

雅各的兒子們是這樣照他所吩咐的給他辦了。

這樣，雅各的兒子們就照著父親吩咐他們的為他去做：

雅各諸子、循父命而行、

雅各眾子循父命而行、

雅各眾子遵父命而行、

So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them:

So Jacob’s sons did exactly as he had commanded them.

Thus his sons did for him as he had commanded them,

So Jacob’s sons did for him what he had commanded them.

And so his sons did for him as he had commanded them;

So his sons did for him just as he had commanded them.

And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:

So Jacob’s sons did for him what he had commanded them.

So the sons of Jacob did for him just as he had instructed them.

His sons did to him just as he commanded them,

“ Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.

As the time of his death drew near, Jacob called for his son Joseph and said to him,“ Please do me this favor. Put your hand under my thigh and swear that you will treat me with unfailing love by honoring this last request: Do not bury me in Egypt.When I die, please take my body out of Egypt and bury me with my ancestors.” So Joseph promised,“ I will do as you ask.”“ Swear that you will do it,” Jacob insisted. So Joseph gave his oath, and Jacob bowed humbly at the head of his bed.

Their bodies were taken to Shechem and buried in the tomb Abraham had bought for a certain price from Hamor’s sons in Shechem.

Then Jacob instructed them,“ Soon I will die and join my ancestors. Bury me with my father and grandfather in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite.This is the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in Canaan, that Abraham bought from Ephron the Hittite as a permanent burial site.There Abraham and his wife Sarah are buried. There Isaac and his wife, Rebekah, are buried. And there I buried Leah.It is the plot of land and the cave that my grandfather Abraham bought from the Hittites.”
