耶和華從天上俯視人間，看有沒有明智者，有沒有尋求上帝的人。人們都偏離正路，一同墮落；沒有人行善，一個也沒有！

我們以前也在他們當中隨從罪惡的本性，放縱肉體和心中的私慾，與其他人一樣本是惹上帝發怒的人。

世人怎能在上帝面前算為義人？婦人所生的怎能純潔？

因此，罪怎樣從一個人進入世界並帶來了死亡，死亡也怎樣臨到了全人類，因為全人類都犯了罪。

誰能使污穢產生潔淨呢？沒有人能。

我生來就是個罪人，在母腹成胎的時候就有罪。

從肉體生的還是肉體，從聖靈生的才是靈。
