The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.

The right to rule will not leave Judah. The ruler’s scepter will not be taken from between his feet. It will be his until the king it belongs to will come. The nations will obey that king.

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from his descendants, until the coming of the one to whom it belongs, the one whom all nations will honor.

He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart, and those who harass Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not harass Ephraim.

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.

a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice.He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.

Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

And again Isaiah says,“ The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

“ As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me,“ You are my Son; today I have begotten you.Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion,“ Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples— of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

Their prince shall be one of themselves; their ruler shall come out from their midst; I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me, for who would dare of himself to approach me? declares the Lord.

for my eyes have seen your salvationthat you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.”

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.Lift up your eyes all around, and see; they all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried on the hip.Then you shall see and be radiant; your heart shall thrill and exult, because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

Its strong stems became rulers’ scepters; it towered aloft among the thick boughs; it was seen in its height with the mass of its branches.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities.The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying,‘ Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying,‘ Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,“ The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”

And fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots, has consumed its fruit, so that there remains in it no strong stem, no scepter for ruling. This is a lamentation and has become a lamentation.

And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts.

And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

From then on Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out,“ If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend. Everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar.”
