“ They are the sons God has given me here,” Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said,“ Bring them to me so I may bless them.”

约瑟对他父亲说：“他们是我的儿子，是神在这里赐给我的。”以色列说：“把他们带到我这里，好让我祝福他们。”

約瑟曰、此乃天主於斯地、所賜我之二子、曰、可攜之前、我為之祝福、

“ They are the sons God has given me here,” Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said,“ Bring them to me. I want to give them my blessing.”

Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” And he said,“ Bring them to me, please, that I may bless them.”

“ Yes,” Joseph told him,“ these are the sons God has given me here in Egypt.” And Jacob said,“ Bring them closer to me, so I can bless them.”

And Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons God has given me here.” So Israel said,“ Bring them to me and I will bless them.”

And Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” So he said,“ Bring them to me, please, so that I may bless them.”

Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons, whom God has given me in this place.” And he said,“ Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”

And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me here. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.

And Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons God has given me here.” So Jacob said,“ Bring them to me and I will bless them.”

And Joseph said unto his father, They[ are] my sons, whom God hath given me in this[ place]. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.

Joseph said to his father,“ They are the sons God has given me in this place.” His father said,“ Bring them to me so I may bless them.”

Joseph said to his father,“ They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” He said,“ Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”

Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children.“ Who are these with you?” he asked. Jacob answered,“ They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”

Prepare me the kind of tasty food I like and bring it to me to eat, so that I may give you my blessing before I die.”

By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.

So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying,“ Because I asked the Lord for him.”

Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying,“ May the Lord give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed for and gave to the Lord.” Then they would go home.And the Lord was gracious to Hannah; she gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.

May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness— an abundance of grain and new wine.May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”

Obed-Edom also had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sakar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh and Peullethai the eighth.( For God had blessed Obed-Edom.)

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them, giving each the blessing appropriate to him.

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.

( All these were sons of Heman the king’s seer. They were given him through the promises of God to exalt him. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.)

This is the blessing that Moses the man of God pronounced on the Israelites before his death.

When Esau heard his father’s words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry and said to his father,“ Bless me— me too, my father!”But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”Esau said,“ Isn’t he rightly named Jacob? This is the second time he has taken advantage of me: He took my birthright, and now he’s taken my blessing!” Then he asked,“ Haven’t you reserved any blessing for me?”Isaac answered Esau,“ I have made him lord over you and have made all his relatives his servants, and I have sustained him with grain and new wine. So what can I possibly do for you, my son?”Esau said to his father,“ Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!” Then Esau wept aloud.His father Isaac answered him,“ Your dwelling will be away from the earth’s richness, away from the dew of heaven above.You will live by the sword and you will serve your brother. But when you grow restless, you will throw his yoke from off your neck.”

May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples.May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.”

Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me. We are signs and symbols in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.

Then the elders and all the people at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.Through the offspring the Lord gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.”So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. When he made love to her, the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.The women said to Naomi:“ Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a guardian-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel!

Jacob became angry with her and said,“ Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?”

Let no foreigner who is bound to the Lord say,“ The Lord will surely exclude me from his people.” And let no eunuch complain,“ I am only a dry tree.”For this is what the Lord says:“ To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant—to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will endure forever.
