于是，祂来到撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各留给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

以色列人把从埃及带出来的约瑟的骸骨葬在示剑，在从前雅各用一百块银子向哈抹的子孙买的那块地里。哈抹是示剑的父亲。后来那块地成了约瑟子孙的产业。

他必须承认他不爱之妻所生的长子的名分，分给他双份产业，因为长子是他壮年时所生的儿子，应享有长子的权利。

主耶和华说：“你要按照我划定的地界，把土地分给以色列的十二支派作产业，除约瑟支派要得两份地业外，

既然是以色列的上帝耶和华为祂的以色列子民赶走了亚摩利人，你凭什么要夺取这块土地？

到了第四代，你的子孙必重回此地，因为亚摩利人现在还没有恶贯满盈。”

他们抢走牛群、羊群、驴群和城里城外所有的东西，

“以色列人啊，我在你们面前消灭了亚摩利人。虽然他们像香柏树那样高大，如橡树那样强壮，但我灭尽了他们的果子，砍断了他们的根。

犹大虽然在众弟兄中最强大，君王也是出自他的后裔，长子的名分却属于约瑟。

他搭营居住的这块地是他用一百块银子向示剑的父亲哈抹的子孙买的。

约瑟的子孙对约书亚说：“耶和华赐福给我们，使我们人口众多，为什么你只让我们抽一支签，分一份产业呢？”约书亚对他们说：“如果你们人口众多，认为以法莲山区窄小，你们可以到比利洗人和利乏音人居住的地方开辟林区。”他们答道：“那些地方不够我们住，何况住在伯·善一带和耶斯列平原的迦南人都有铁战车。”约书亚对约瑟的子孙以法莲人和玛拿西人说：“你们人口众多，势力强大，不应只得一签之地，山区也要分给你们，虽然全是森林，但可以开辟土地，使整个地区归你们。虽然迦南人强盛，有铁战车，但你们能够赶走他们。”
