父不許、曰、吾子、我知之矣、此子亦必成為一族、且復昌大、惟季必越於長、其裔成為羣族、

But his father refused and said,“ I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations.”

But his father wouldn’t do it. He said,“ I know, my son. I know. He too will become a nation. He too will become great. But his younger brother will be greater than he is. His children after him will become a group of nations.”

But his father refused and said,“ I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. Nevertheless, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”

But his father refused.“ I know, my son; I know,” he replied.“ Manasseh will also become a great people, but his younger brother will become even greater. And his descendants will become a multitude of nations.”

But his father refused and said,“ I know, my son, I know! He too will become a tribe, and he too will be great; nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his offspring will become a populous nation.”

But his father refused and said,“ I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”

他是牛群中头生的，大有威严；他的双角是野牛的角，用以抵触万民，直到地极。这对角是以法莲的万万，这对角是玛拿西的千千。’

耶和华—你们的神使你们增多。看哪，你们今日好像天上的星那样多。

耶和华必使亚述王临到你和你的百姓，并你的父家，自从以法莲脱离犹大的时候，未曾有过这样的日子。

以法莲支派被数的共有四万零五百名。玛拿西子孙的后代，照着宗族、父家、人名的数目，凡二十岁以上能出去打仗的，玛拿西支派被数的共有三万二千二百名。

在城门坐着的所有百姓和长老说：“我们都是证人。愿耶和华使进你家的这女子，像建立以色列家的拉结和利亚二人一样。又愿你在以法他得亨通，在伯利恒有名声。愿耶和华从这年轻女子赐你后裔，使你的家像她玛从犹大所生法勒斯的家一样。”

“波斯人、路德人、弗人在你的军营中作战士；他们在你们中间悬挂盾牌和头盔，彰显你的尊荣。

亚设支派中有一万二千；拿弗他利支派中有一万二千；玛拿西支派中有一万二千；

他的军队被数的有四万零五百名。在他旁边的是玛拿西支派。玛拿西人的领袖是比大蓿的儿子迦玛列，他的军队被数的有三万二千二百名。

以色列却伸出右手来，按在次子以法莲的头上，又交叉伸出左手来，按在长子玛拿西的头上。

至于以实玛利，我已听见你了：看哪，我必赐福给他，使他兴旺，极其繁多。他必生十二个族长，我要使他成为大国。到明年所定的时候，撒拉必为你生以撒，我要与他坚立我的约。”

西布伦支派中有一万二千；约瑟支派中有一万二千；便雅悯支派中受印的有一万二千。
