随后是七年饥荒肆虐全国，之前的丰收将被忘记。饥荒将非常严重，之前的丰收将荡然无存。

田园荒废，遍地凄凉，五谷尽毁，再也没有新酒和油了。农夫啊，你们要忧伤！照料葡萄园的人啊，你们要哀号！因为田间的大麦和小麦全毁了。葡萄树枯死，无花果树凋残，石榴树、棕树、苹果树等田野的一切树木枯干。人间的欢乐消逝了。

对他说：“我们去各地的水泉和河谷，也许可以找到草救活骡马，不致丧失牲畜。”

你要在夜间起来，在主面前整夜呼求，向祂倾心吐意；你要为饿昏街头的孩童向主举手祷告。“耶和华啊，求你看看，你曾这样对付过谁呢？母亲岂能吃自己的孩子？祭司和先知岂能在主的圣所中被杀？

死于刀下的胜过死于饥饿的，后者因田间缺粮而活活饿死。
