谁不照顾自己的亲属，尤其是不照顾自己的家人，就是违背真道，比不信的人还坏。

身为基督的使徒，我们理当受到你们的尊重，然而我们像母亲抚育婴儿一样温柔地对待你们。

约瑟来到法老面前，对他说：“我父亲和我的弟兄们已经带着他们的羊群、牛群和所有的一切从迦南来了，现在就在歌珊。”

上帝说，‘要孝敬父母’，又说，‘咒骂父母的，必被处死。’你们却说，‘人如果把供养父母的钱奉献给上帝，他就不必供养父母。’你们这是用传统来废掉上帝的诫命。

他必让你的生命重新得力，奉养你，使你安度晚年，因为他是爱你的儿媳妇所生的。有这儿媳妇比有七个儿子还要好！”
