法老對約瑟說：『上帝既將這事告知了你，那就沒有人像你這樣有見識有智慧了。你可以掌管我的家；我的人民都必須聽從你所吩咐的；惟獨在王位上，我才比你大。』法老對約瑟說：『看哪，我立了你來治理埃及全地。』就脫下他手上的打印戒指，戴在約瑟手上，給他穿上麻絲織的衣服，把金鍊掛在他的脖子上；又讓約瑟坐他的副車，有喝道的在前面呼叫說：『跪下』。這樣，法老就立了約瑟來治理埃及全地。法老對約瑟說：『我是法老；在埃及全地，若沒有你的命令，就沒有人會動手動腳作甚麼事。』法老給約瑟起名叫撒發那忒巴內亞；又將安城祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給約瑟為妻。約瑟就出來視察埃及地。約瑟侍立在埃及王法老面前的時候，年三十歲；約瑟從法老面前出來，遍行埃及全地。當七年豐收的時候，那地出產豐盛，一把一把地收進來。約瑟收集了埃及地七年豐收的一切糧食，把糧食存在城市裏，將各城周圍田地的糧食存在城中。

我做了窮人的父；我查明素不認識者的案件。

立他做王家之主，管理他一切的財產，使他隨意約束大臣，將智慧教導長老。

現在你們不要因為把我賣到這裏來自己憂傷、自己惱怒；因為是為了要保全人類的生命，上帝才差了我在你們以先來的。
